church music

Well, this is news from me, anyway. I just started playing with a band. It's a church band. We have an 84 year old steel guitarist, who plays a Hawaiian style, a lady who finger plucks the bass like nobodies business, a drummer who has the ability to rock and roll, jazz and country anything, and then we have back up singers, in a Church! I have been using my acoustic/electric, and it's been fairly rewarding. No one shows up f'd up, and everyone works well together. I did not know that church music was so complicated, as far as chords, and scales. What are your thoughts? Anyone. The church is fairly unjudgemental, thus far. I am not religious, but they invited me to play despite that fact. I told the pastor straight up when I started that I don't know how long I will do this, but that I would give it my best musicianship, and he told me that was fine. He did not try and convince me of anything, he just accepted me as I am.

Les Paul - Where would we be?

I know it has been about a week or so, but I was sitting here and I can't help to ponder the life and contributions to the guitar and recording world made by Les Paul. I had watched a documentary about him a few weeks before he died. I knew little about him, except for the guitar, but the more I knew the more I admired him. Do you think he had more impact on guitar, especially the electric guitar than anyone else thus far? What do you think was his most significant contribution? Where would we be without Les? Take a moment and let us know what you think.

The MJ (not Micheal Jordan, the other MJ) saga continues. Micheal Jackson's mother is considering a wrongful death law suit. Was Micheal responsible for his own actions? Was it his choice to be a junkie or should the doctors be held responsible for getting him the drugs? Could anyone tell Micheal "no"? Why didn't his own family step in if he had a problem? Maybe we should all get together and file a class action suit against his family for "allowing" Micheal to implode? What do you think?

Zeppelin Fans - Tour next year?

I grew up committing most of Zeppelins library to memory. There was a time you could name a song and I could usually tell you the album and track (that is when vinyl was still the most popular media). I didn't really try to memorize them, I really listened to their music that much; every album, from beginning to end. I know, I really needed to get a life. But what can I say? I was a teenager with allot of time on my hands and a love for hard bluesy music. I wish now I had spent that time learning how to play, rather than listening to Page play, but here we are. I was reading in NME news that Page and the boys are looking at a tour next year. Although I no longer consider myself a Zep fanatic, I would like to see the show. I missed out as Bonzo died just prior to the only tour I would have had a chance to see. I saw Plant during the Now and Zen days. He covered some Zep and it was good, but I would really like to see Zeppelin perform live as a band. I am sure the tickets will be expensive and hard to come by. Anybody else out there jonesin' for a Zeppelin reunion tour?

Follow Up on United Breaks Guitars Story (I know I\'m beating it to death)

To set the record straight before I share this guitar related story (again), I in no way proclaim Dave Carroll to be a person solving any significant problems or world issues. I am not even sure I would classify him as a smart guy or great musician. I do, however, find this story amusing. It is gratifying (at least to me) that he was able to hold a big corporation accountable using his guitar a video camera and a little creativity. I know this has been posted before and you are probably familiar with the story, but hang in there for the update at the end. United damaged Dave Carroll's $3500 Taylor ($1200 worth of damage). I know you might be saying "so what?". The dude has a $3500 Taylor; what's he wining about. The point is his guitar could be a $100 Oscar Schmidt; the airline broke it and the airline should fix it. Initially they refused, as many big companies will do, hoping you will tire of the fight and just go away. So Dave shot the attached video and put it on You Tube. It has had over 3 million hits and as a result United decided to reimburse Dave for the damages, and then some. In a more recent related event, there was another guitarists named Kevin Fox from Toronto (Also from Canada...Hmmmm?) traveling on Sunwing Airlines. He had his $2000 acoustic damaged. Again the airline initially refused to make good. He sent them the link to Dave's video, and all of a sudden they were ready to reimburse him. No not earth shattering or life changing, but hey the dude is a guitarists and g.com is a guitar site. Also he donated the settlement to a guitar school for underprivileged children and not matter what, that was pretty cool. Can't we give Dave just a little love?

United Breaks Guitars

Have you guys seen this? Apparently, United Airlines damaged this guys Taylor to the tune of $1200. Dave Carroll, the guitar owner, spent months trying to get United to reimburse him, without success. Getting no satisfaction from customer service (been there, done that, and got the t-shirt) Carroll took his protest to the Internet in the form of the attached video. It has become an Internet hit and, wouldn't you know it, United has suddenly and miraculously changed its tune. Obviously Dave didn't do this for the cash, as he requested that United forward any reimbursement to charity. In their new found wisdom, United will be donating $3K to the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz for music education for kids. (amazing what a little negative publicity can do!) Score one for the guitarist and for frustrated consumers everywhere. Maybe someone should compose a song about Comcast? Great Job Dave Carroll!

I jammed with Yngwie Malmsteen today!!! F**king Hell!

Guys!!! I cant believe what happend to me today! Yeap I jammed for 10 mins with yngwie Malmsteen! It was awesome, he is awesome!

I went to Birmingham UK Guitar Show with my Mrs and met up with some contacts I have who do the filming for a company named lick library. They introduced me to all the artists on, including ex Deep Purple singer Glenn Hughes. They introduced me to yngwie who was up for jamming with anyone, so we jammed "Little Wing" by Hendrix! He said these words to me- " You got great legato man"! Awesome!

Very surreal feeling, Yngwie has never been a hero or influence of mine, but was great fun! IM BUZZING! He got my album anyway!

Michael Jackson: Was he a \"pervert\" and a \"low life\"?

Rep Peter King from New York called Michael Jackson a "pervert" and a "low life" and suggested he is not worthy of all the coverage he has gotten. ...quoting Rep King:

"He was a pervert, a child molester; he was a pedophile. And to be giving this much coverage to him, day in and day out, what does it say about us as a country? I just think we're too politically correct."

Do you agree? Are we giving too much attention to a person who despite his musical talents, was a low life pervert? Or should his behavior be excused as just weird and eccentric, giving him respect for his music and talent? Is it fair to say Micheal Jackson was a pedophile?

Jammie Thomas-Rasset of Minnesota was successfully sued for 1.92 million dollars for downloading something like 24 songs. Is it just me or does this seem ridiculous? Are the record companies out of control? Or is it reasonable that she should have to pay this fine? I have seen where other folks have settled for anywhere from 3 to 7 thousand. Even if Jammie downloaded the songs, they were worth about $25 total. Does the penalty fit the crime? What do you think should be done? Should it even be a crime? Tell me what you think...

Artist Royaltys: Radio Stations Vs Recording Industry

http://www.boston.com/ae/media/articles/2009/05/04/royalty_ruling_looms_for_radio_stations_musicians/

I just wanted to post this to get everyone’s thoughts about this. Myself I can see it from both sides but I think when it comes down to it I think I come down on the radio side of things. I think the only solution would be to have an agreement or contract signed by artists saying if they want radio play or not also I think if this goes through and radio stations do start getting charged more than they are now I can see a lot of stations being owned by the record industry and they’ve already screwed things up enough I’m sure they will make radio even worse than it is today.

It Might Get Loud

Has any one else seen this. I just found out about it this morning. I hope it does well enough to get a larger release>

"Who hasn’t wanted to be a rock star, join a band or play electric guitar? Music resonates, moves and inspires us. Strummed through the fingers of The Edge, Jimmy Page and Jack White, somehow it does more. Such is the premise of It Might Get Loud, a new documentary conceived by producer Thomas Tull.

It Might Get Loud isn’t like any other rock’n roll documentary. Filmed through the eyes of three virtuosos from three different generations, audiences get up close and personal, discovering how a furniture upholsterer from Detroit, a studio musician and painter from London and a seventeen–year–old Dublin schoolboy, each used the electric guitar to develop their unique sound and rise to the pantheon of superstar. Rare discussions are provoked as we travel with Jimmy Page, The Edge and Jack White to influential locations of their pasts. Born from the experience is intimate access to the creative genesis of each legend, such as Link Wray’s “Rumble’s” searing impression upon Jimmy Page, who surprises audiences with an impromptu air guitar performance. But that’s only the beginning."

We feel it would be a privilege to speak with you about your guitars and it might be a way of getting some of the guys there more interested in learning about real Charvel guitars. The sight is owned by Jim D'Addario and is currently being upgraded. I thought that if we could get you to log on for a half hour or an hour at your convenience it would be quite an honor to speak with you.

Sincerely,

Fred Kraus

I haven't found any style of music that I don't like to play, not saying that I'm good at every style often my desire out weighs my ability but I enjoy playing everthing, maybe it's just the pure joy of playing but I've have yet to find a form of music that doesen't bring satisfaction, often frustration true, but enjoyment, I like playing it all.
With record Oil Company Profits also figured in, ... ...

Man if I had the money right now, which I don’t being sick, and out of work, ...But if I did, .....I would be making my money on the internet selling survivalist gear, ...and those civilian MRE’s ( Meals Ready To Eat, ) ....Which are supposed to be tastier than the military versions!!!!! ........People might be buying Gold, ..so they could sell it for survival supplies, ...if it ever came to that, .....But if it ever did, ...The supplies would be quite expensive indeed!!!! .....So the Gold will have lost it’s edge, .....Except to bribe “Border Guards” and the like!!!! .........So people can’t eat Gold, ....And need their MRE’s to go with their Gold investments as well!!!!

I don’t think it will come to that, unless a massive Meteor hits earth, etc..., .......But I sure could make a hell of a lot of money selling MRE’s to people!!!!!

I am a Republican, ...who has always despised Bush, ....Because while it’s true Saddam Hussein was evil, ....and it’s nice He’s gone,

( And it’s also true He outwitted Bush!!!! ....which is not hard to do!!!! ....Because Hussein canned all of His advanced weapons programs, ....And simply kept all his research and development files, ....To try and acquire Nuclear Weapons, ....Once the UN Sanctions and Scrutiny would have lifted!!! )

And maybe, Bush knew as much, ....As He knew the stories of Hussein buying “Chinese Yellow Cake Powdered Uranium” were false, ....As Iraq had only made inquiries, ...and purchased nothing of the sort!!!! .......But just the same, by Lying about all of it, ...To the point where “Colon Powell” became disgusted with the Republicans, ...for all the Shit the Bush administration gave Him, ....For not wanting to Lie, ....And provide so much false information, ...( Of course with I not being able to know what level of lying He would have been comfortable with???? )

But I blame, Bush for allowing so much of what the Democrats were as guilty as Hell also, ...being allowed to continue, ...until we have the Crisis we are now in!!!!

But what the Hell, ......I really believe all of those bastards are Illuminati, .... Who truly do want a “One World System,” ....With this Crisis designed to crush “Capitalism’ as much as possible, ....having been engineered on purpose in my opinion!!!!!

Because with the Community Redevelopment Act, and other actions etc.., Under the Clinton Administration, ....Where Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac, ...were forced to write all of that bad paper!!!! ....In a crisis, engineered at the very least, going back to 1992, .....How could so many of those supposedly “Astute and Insightful Professional Washington Insiders, ...Who We Call Politicians” ....not know what was coming??????

Are we to believe that none of these Assholes knew anything was coming?????

And if so, ....they who do this for a living, ....Are either Demons!!!! ...Or the “Idiots out Walking About,” ...You see in so many Monty Python Skits about Idiots!!!!!

So I am still convinced they are all Lying Scum Sucking Illuminati Bastards in Washington!!!!

But I was hoping, ...that their plans were only to go so far with this round of destruction they have wrought, ....And that President Obama might actually try and do a little Bi-Partisan Cooperation, ....Of a real nature, ....And not just of Liberal Left Lip Service, ....So as to try and build at least some Prestige for His Party, ....And have some actual common sense ideas, ...So as to Prove a historic African American President, ....which could bring pride to African Americans, ...who supposedly think the system is against them, .......When the System is against the Entire Human Race, .......Unless You are already Super Rich, ......But are doing what the Illuminati, ...thru the Bildeburgers, etc.., are telling them to do, ....If they don’t want to be murdered, ...OR whatever, .....Because the Illuminati might intimidate the Rich into compliance, ...With threats of individual destruction, ....if they don’t help bring about this supposed one World System?????

Because why did all of the ( Madoff’s ) in the current World Situation, get away with what they did, and are still doing, when they can????? ....And just about everyone in Government, who was involved with this, ...As well as so many of these Financial Institution Executives, etc..., ....Really did screw us in more ways than you can imagine, ....while all along doing what The Illuminati, ...I’m sorry, Washington, ...told them to do!!!! ( ???? )

And if this is not the case, ...Then after the Chinese Olympics, ...Where China who only wanted things to run smoothly for the Olympics, ...were tired of Subsidizing their National Oil prices, ...And wanted the market price for oil to not cost the government as much itself, ...etc.., ...And all of the other stable calm in the system, ....In which nothing really changed, ....in spite of what plans may or may not have been implemented

...but all of a sudden, just before the Financial Crisis was exposed, ....With convenient timing for this election cycle I must add!!!! ....But all of a sudden Wall-Street knew they were done!!!!! ....they knew that the Financial Markets were about to Tumble, ...Even though they pretend otherwise!!!! .....And then all of a sudden, .......Money hit the streets running, ...to secretly escape!!!! ....And out of the “Blue” with no worldwide market force changes, ...all of a sudden Oil Skyrocketed to the $150 Per Barrel Price, ...So that those who stole what money they could from the soon to fail Financials, put it into “Oil Speculation,” ....So that panic, ...and further speculation, ....would cause prices to rise further, ...on their speculations with stolen OPM ( Other Peoples Money, ) .... And they knew they could save some large chunks of cash for themselves this way!!!! ...And the Domestic US Oil Companies must have felt so bad, ...With Flat-Line-Production-Costs, in having to charge the new Going-Market-Rate for their domestic oil drilling production!!!! ....they must have felt real bad with the largest US corporate profits ever!!!!

But what is really Scary, ....With their Record Profits having to be calculated into the mix, ....the USA showed the worst corporate losses ever!!!!! ....Since 1871 when such records began to be kept!!!!!

And none of those Washington Bastards, supposedly saw this Train-Wreck Coming?????

U.N. finds new uranium traces at Syria site. ...

I present the following MSNBC World News - Article, based on news reports from the associated press, which I found as the top listing in an internet search I performed on the subjects at hand:

****VIENNA - Samples taken from a Syrian site suspected of harboring a secret nuclear program have revealed new traces of processed uranium, the U.N. nuclear agency reported Thursday.

****A separate report by the same organization — the International Atomic Energy Agency — noted a significant slowdown in Iran's efforts to expand its uranium enrichment program. The U.N. Security Council has slapped sanctions on Iran for not freezing enrichment, which can be used to make both nuclear fuel and the core of warheads.

The report did not suggest any reason for the slowdown. But agency chief Mohamed ElBaradei said earlier this week that the reason appeared to be "political" — indicating that Iran may be waiting for conciliatory signals from the new U.S. administration, which has said it is ready to break with past American policy and talk directly with Iran on nuclear and other disputes.

Both reports — meant for restricted release Thursday only to the 35 nations of the IAEA board — were obtained by The Associated Press ahead of a board meeting starting March 2 that will have the nuclear activities of the two Mideast nations on its agenda.

****The two documents painted a generally disheartening picture of the nuclear agency's efforts to probe the Iranian and Syrian nuclear programs. Tehran says its nuclear activities are peaceful, while Damascus denies hiding any nuclear program.

****On Iran, the report noted Tehran's "continued lack of cooperation" in agency efforts to investigate suspicions the Islamic Republic had at least planned to make nuclear weapons. It also said Iran continued both uranium enrichment and building a heavy water reactor that will produce plutonium — like enriched uranium, a possible component of nuclear warheads.

****The Syria report noted Syria's refusal to allow agency inspectors to make follow-up visits to sites suspected of harboring a secret nuclear program despite repeated requests from top agency officials.

****The brevity of the reports — the one on Iran ran five pages, the one on Syria was just three — reflected the lack of progress in the separate agency probes.

****Still, a senior U.N. official who asked to remain anonymous described as significant the find of new uranium traces from samples taken during a visit in June to the Al Kibar site bombed in 2007 by Israeli jets.

The first minute traces of processed uranium from those samples were found late last year. The official said additional analysis had found 40 more uranium particles, for a total of 80 particles.

Additionally, the official said, experts were analyzing minute traces of graphite and stainless steel found at and near the site, although he cautioned it was too early to say whether they were related to nuclear activity.

Inspectors at the Al Kibar site were known to be looking for graphite, an element in the type of North Korean prototype that the United States says the Syrians were trying to build with help from Pyongyang.

****On Iran, the agency said that Tehran was now fully operating 3,936 centrifuges to enrich uranium at its cavernous underground facility at Natanz, a city about 300 miles south of Tehran — only 164 more than at the time of its last report in November.

But it continued building hundreds more centrifuges and linking them into the configurations used for enrichment, said the IAEA.

Tehran has announced a target of 9,000 centrifuges by the end of this for what it says is a large-scale nuclear program meant solely to power reactors.

****However, independent experts have noted that the Islamic Republic may be running out of the raw uranium it imported decades ago needed to create the feedstock for enrichment — something diplomats have confirmed to The Associated Press.

****With uranium imports banned under Security Council sanctions on Tehran and its domestic mining possibilities limited, the diplomats have warned that it may try in the near future to undercut the sanctions and import the material illegally. The diplomats demanded anonymity in exchange for discussing the sensitive topic.

****To date, Iran had enriched more than 1,600 pounds of low-enriched uranium suitable for nuclear fuel, the report said. U.N. officials have said that Tehran would have to produce less than twice that to begin enriching it to the weapons-grade level needed to produce a warhead while other experts have given even lower amounts.

****The report on Iran, which also went to the Security Council, complained both about Iran's stonewalling on its alleged nuclear weapons plans and experiments and its general refusal to give the IAEA greater inspecting rights.

"A number of outstanding issues ... give rise to concern and ... need to be clarified to exclude the existence of possible military dimensions to Iran's nuclear program," it said. "For the agency to be able to address these concerns and make progress in its efforts to provide assurance about the absence of undeclared nuclear material and activities in Iran, it is essential that Iran ... provide the information and access requested by the agency."

Electric Guitar and REcording in the future: NOISE!!!

http://tech.msn.com/news/article.aspx?cp-documentid=17337626&gt1=40000

Wireless electricity. Right...
We whine so much about the EM fields generated by microwave ovens, cellphones and cell antennas, radio antennas, wireless modems, even power cables affecting our health and being the reason for cancer and whatnot that I'm surprised to see even more of them fields be introduced in homes. And some of these ideas are going to be strong fields at that...
The major BS in the story is that humans are invisible to fields. NOT TRUE! Birds navigate by sensing the earth's magnetic field, a field that can't power up anything and can barely cause a floating needle to turn. The nerve system is a jungle of electrical signals. And last but not least, my position in the room often affects my FM radio reception.

So, health concerns aside, electric instrument playing looks like it's about to get a lot noisier in the not so distant future. To the CRT screens (finally resolved with flat screens), power cables, fluorescent bulbs, cell phones, wireless routers, electrical appliances, bad ground lines and general EM noise that we already have to battle against, now is about to be added the wireless electricity network of your home.

The US military has developed a land based version of the Phalanx defensive system, which has been deployed to Iraq for Urban defense Trials:

It has been expressly designed for use in urban situations, ( as needs in Iraq indeed may dictate --- and even while Iraq slowly winds down --- the situation is still potentially very dangerous, until we have left altogether ) However a much less intense test < as it would not be deployed in Gaza, but rather in Israeli territory >, and there is an actual urgent need for it, in Israel now, as well as it's usefulness in Iraq ---to prevent Hamas rocket attacks ( if and when they may resume after this lull in the conflict ), and thus it would be prudent to deploy the system to Israel now, as the process of trust which does not exist between the parties involved, could only get better for each side, if Israel would not have to react, while feeling so threatened!!!!!

The standard, sea-deployed version of the Phalanx, uses depleted-uranium rounds. But the new C-RAM ( for Counter – Rocket and Mortar, system ), is perfect for a populated environment, as depleted-uranium, is technically classified as toxic-waste.

So instead, the C-RAM system, uses Hi-Explosive Incendiary rounds, which explode to leave no “Shrapnel” to create problems within Urban environments. ---However, if Israel were to deploy it as a defense in depth system, removed from Gaza itself, that would be a moot point, as it would not be deployed in an Urban environment at all!!!!!

And the cost, of using missiles, such as from Patriot, and newer systems, is cost prohibitive to use, against cheap rockets and Mortars, of a potential, nearly inexhaustible supply. ---So therefore the C-RAM, is the only economical weapons system to deploy against such a threat anyway!!!!!!

And then Israel, and the other parties involved, would have more-pressure, and not less, to step up to the “Plate,” so to speak, so as to be pressured to “Play Nice.”

And instead, of seeing the pressure, such a system deployment would bring, towards making it easier to expect all sides to behave better, in light of such a weapons system deployment ----I get attacked by Liberals, right and left for even suggesting, and actual “Viable Solution,” which they never seem to have????? They only seem to want to hate Israel, and provide no solution, to remove the “Pointed Guns,” which seem to be pointed at everyone’s head.

War is not always wrong, but a necessary compromise, to an otherwise untenable situation. And while Bush should not have lied to get into Iraq, Saddam Hussein was an evil individual, whom it seems, scrapped His weapons development programs, to hide His research knowledge base, to start such programs up again, once the U.N. sanctions would have ended.

And now, we have a problem politically, in appearing to want to reorganize the middle east, when in Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, is a much more dangerous character, than Hussein was at that moment ---Because Ahmadinejad, is playing games with a “Jonny come lately” version of an Islamic Apocalypse, which makes him very unpopular in his own country, and places Him in a position, to advance attacks against Israel, and hatred for the west, etc.., ---To make himself look good.

Now Saddam Hussein, had been diverting the “Oil for Food” revenue money received, along with crooked high ranking UN personnel, as well as the fact, that Europe, had previously, and illegally, supplying Iraq with prohibited war technology, including components to build Gerald Bull’s Super-Gun, ballistic cannon, etc.., --and everyone blames Us, for dealing with the deadly weapons, beyond the needs of His own defense He was trying to obtain???? ----And by diverting the food for oil money, tens of thousands of Iraqi children, under 6 years of age were dying of starvation, as I understand it!!!!!

So with all of these bad people in the world, who won’t go away, because we think “Happy Clouds” protest, and peace thoughts, have to be dealt with.

But lying about the evidence, and reasons for getting into a war, which was inevitable it would have been discovered, only makes our, and the worlds job that much more difficult.

But when I suggest, the deployment of C-RAM to Israel, I always get attacked, even after I explain, it would diffuse the situation much more considerably, than it would diffuse otherwise ---so we don’t have to revisit the same issues, --and all sides could them be pressured, to feel less “threatened,’ and less “Defensive,” and thus make less “Reactionary” responses to situations.

So, if it will be a civil debate fine. But if “Liberals” want to “Chew Me Up and Spit Me Out,” because I see the difficult challenge, and Worth, of the Military, and it’s means, when used wisely to serve, protect, and make the world a safer and better place ----and if I am going to be attacked mindlessly, for having a reasonable stance ----which can be debated politely ---but if unreasonably attacked for having an opinion, than in advance I say “Bite Me,” back to your calling Me Names, and such ---if we cannot have a civil debate.

What do you guys think about this? I'm kind of worried about it..

Israeli are required to enlist after they graduate high school, they have tanks, air strikes, everything. Palestinians have almost nothing, they've been throwing rocks at the Israeli military. The few weapons they have fired have been from civilian buildings like apartments, so when the Israeli fire on the building, they (Hamas and south Israel) can paint a bad face on the Israeli government. Bush is behind Israel, but I'm thinking that's only because he can use the alliance to get into and attack Iran. I think less than 10 Israeli have been killed, but hundreds of Palestinians are dead, especially in Gaza where the majority of the bombs are going down. What's going on?

So... What do you think is going to become of Blagojevich?

Heck, it's been well known for months that the FBI had been looking at him. And how he so wrecklessly incrimidated himself in those recordings. He's either crazy or he's crazy like a fox. I don't know what to make of that.

However, I was streaming a Chicago station WLS while at work, and they had a Chicago Tribune reporter say Blago knows where the "bodies" are buried. Remember, this is a machine political system. That means, if you're a political player in Chicago, you are of one of two statuses, there are no others.

1: You're involved in the corruption
2: You know about the corruption, but look the other way when it happens

Clearly, regardless of Jesse Jackson Jr's denials, he was in on the pay to play, through surrogates. Also, it's been reported that Rahm Emanuel had 21 conversations with Blago on the tapes.

So, where does all this stuff stand?

Rezko began talking which led the feds to Blago. Who will Blago give up?

But there's more. Fitzgerald cut his investigation short, which puzzled many. Why didn't he let the investigation play out so he can reel in all the wrongdoers? But as a result, Blago's lawyer is asserting Blago commited no crime. All they have on him is talk. No deals were struck, no favors were done. Blago may walk! Amazing!

Secret Service: Allogations of "kill him" unfounded

The secret service was positioned all throughout that event and they were dumbfounded by the news of someone yelling "kill him". So they opened an investigation, as they should, and they found nothing. It was all made up. But who made it up? Who wasted the secret service's time just so a salacious story against McCain/Palin could be reported on and repeated over and over by the media which would obviously help Obama?

I'm just amaze, but not surprised, how the media jumped on this fake story and ran with it. Amazing.

Only taxpayers should be allowed to vote.

This current election brings me back to a position I have held for a long time. I firmly believe that if you are living off of gov't hand-outs, you do not deserve to have any say in how that gov't is run or who runs it. Voting should be reserved for taxpayers and taxpayers only. If you are taking money out of the system instead of putting it in, how in the hell can you expect to have any say in how that money is spent? It's insane.

The gov't steals, yes steals money from my pocket and gives that money to bums. Fine, it pisses me off, but I've learned to accept it. However, it goes beyond all belief to then make sure those same bums get to vote on important issues. Is it any wonder we have so many "social programs" and welfare waste? If someone is giving you handouts, you're going to vote for the people giving you the handouts no matter what it might be doing to the country.

If only tax paying citizens were allowed to vote, imagine how much lower our taxes would be. Imagine how many of those same bums and dead beats would then have to get up off their asses and get a job. I've had to work my ass off for everything I have and I strongly resent people being able to keep reaching into my pocket and taking a bigger and bigger cut.

We are taxing ourselves into ruin and becoming a nannny state, and it could all be avoided by simply restricting elections to the people who are paying the bill.

There was one video where one homeless man admonished Obama to get his "thug thizzle" on. And now this. This guy registered to vote 72 times at the prompting of ACORN activists.

Guitar Hero Bringing New Guitar Fans...

Evedence suggests the popularity of guitar hero is helping to get new guitar fans and students than ever before.
Activision stated on January 21, 2008 that North American sales from all of the Guitar Hero franchise has exceeded one billion dollars with over 14 million units sold and excluding downloadable content.[1] Over 20 million songs have been sold as downloadable content as of July 2008.[55] Guitar Hero and the way it is used have been a focus of intense study by sociologists across the country. Most notably, a group of Duke University cultural anthropologists undertook a study of video game culture and preferences amongst undergraduates. The study concluded that Caucasian males were more than ten times more likely to enjoy Guitar Hero than EA Sports Madden football. On the other side, African-American males almost exclusively played Madden when given the choice between the two games. The study cited Duke's Psychology center at 723 9th Street as a crucial force of inspiration for the topic. The scholars admit that they have no clear conclusion as to why the results were so lopsided.[56]
Guitar Hero has made several appearances in popular culture. Guitar Hero II is the centerpiece of an episode of South Park entitled "Guitar Queer-o", in which Stan and Kyle get hooked onGuitar Hero II and end up being treated as though they are real-life rock stars. The episode was first broadcast on November 7, 2007, 10 days after the American release of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock.[57] The episode of Metalocalypse entitled "Dethvengance" featured a black Guitar Hero controller on the bed of a boy attempting to download music from the band Dethklok illegally. The song playing on his computer is "Thunderhorse," which is playable on Guitar Hero II. In the Metalocalypse episode "Dethkids," a sick child composes a song for Dethklok rhythm guitarist Toki Wartooth using a Guitar Hero controller.[58] Ellen DeGeneres has played Guitar Hero several times in 2008 during the monologue of her syndicated talk show.
I have never played but I think it is a good thing...what about you?

Useless Presidential Candidates

I'm just wondering if I'm the only one who is amazed how pathetic our presidential candidates are. This great country, which I love dearly, a country who put a man on the moon. A country that won 2 world wars. That has always been looked to for it's technology, it's power, it's wealth and it's long history of innovation and invention. A country that has always led the world as the epitome of a super power. That this wonderful, unlimited country could narrow down the presidential field to these 2 pathetic losers simply amazes me.

You cannot tell me that these are the best qualified people for the job. You cannot even convince me that either of these bums are at all qualified to be leader of the free world. It's embarrassing.

We get to choose between some big eared communist or a septagenarian who decide whether he's a liberal or conservative.

Where are the real thinkers and leaders? Has everyone given up on the concept of limited government? Is the entire country just sitting around waiting to see which one gives the biggest handout? What happened to individualism, relying on yourself instead of wondering what the government is going to take from me and redistribute? It makes me sick, neither of these guys is fit to run a 7-11 much less my country.

Jimmy Bruno Guitar Institute Shatters Enrollment Projections

The Internet-based Jimmy Bruno Guitar Institute (JBGI) announces that it has quadrupled in size, in just the last six months, to over 1350 paying students. Originally designed for 350 students, the JBGI has shattered all enrollment projections since opening in May 2007. "The growth has been phenomenal and gratifying", says Affiliated Artists CEO and JBGI co-founder David Butler. "Now that guitarists know Jimmy Bruno's unique and effective guitar method is available online, it has spread like wildfire."

Jimmy Bruno's New Worldwide Reach
Although never his intent, Jimmy Bruno may now be the most influential jazz guitar teacher in history, with students from 40 countries around the world under his direct supervision. Additionally, the JBGI student-body includes a large number of guitar teachers, who with Mr. Bruno's permission and encouragement are in turn teaching Jimmy's method to their students. Also, guitarists from areas of the world where there is no jazz instruction at all are converging on the JBGI to learn to play jazz correctly from an American jazz master.

Capacity concerns
Rapid communication amongst the close-knit guitar community, as well as open access to Jimmy Bruno has created a very large influx of students to the JBGI. Addressing concerns that the JBGI may be nearing capacity, Mr. Butler said, "It is true that we reduced our advertising while we regrouped, but we are committed to making the JBGI experience very high quality and it will continue to be available to all motivated students until our new technology is maximized."

Innovation To Enable Broad Expansion
Empowered by proprietary video technology from JBGI parent company Affiliated Artists, Mr. Bruno interacts continuously with the JBGI student-body. To keep pace with projected growth, a new generation video management system is in the late stages of development at Affiliated Artists, to be deployed later this month. "The new system automates much of the technical stuff, freeing me to spend more of my time with the students and focus on their progress," said Mr. Bruno. Mr. Butler adds, "The new Student Video Management System will increase JBGI's capacity to over 4000 students, roughly two years of projected growth."

Groundbreaking Approach - Hundreds of "Virtual" Master Classes
A large part of the success of the JBGI is the result of jazz guitar master Jimmy Bruno's "firsthand" interaction with JBGI students. Unlike static online sites, JBGI students receive direct and continuing guidance from Mr. Bruno through video interchanges, which keeps them on track. This interaction is in the form of "Master Classes", an exchange of videos between students and Mr. Bruno. An added bonus is being able to watch him evaluate hundreds of fellow students via video. This combination brings a depth of knowledge unmatched in any other music instruction approach. There are currently over 450 Master Classes posted on the JBGI, with more added each week.

A Continuation of New Lesson Materials
Since the JBGI opened its door 10 months ago, the amount of lesson material has gone from around 70 formal lesson videos to well over 500 videos, including hundreds of "Master Classes", and dozens of educational and entertainment videos. The JBGI recently added an adjunct faculty member, Philadelphia-based blues guitarist Johnny DeFrancesco, who created new JBGI course materials that focus on blues and blues-oriented rock.

The JBGI Sports A New Look
In addition to an under-the-covers technology overhaul, the Jimmy Bruno Guitar Institute has just been given a new look. Designed by Grammy-winning designer Jack Frisch, the new look enhances JBGI's leading edge music instruction mission and signals yet another phase of continued growth for the Institute.

Guitar Soloing made easy

Are you a Guitar Nut, and have always wanted to play your favourite guitar solo?

Be cool wouldn’t it?

If you’ve tried then you’ll know it’s not easy,

Firstly you have to listen, piece by piece to the solo, trying to figure out what notes they’re actually playing, which usually means hours and hours of squatting down with your ear in the speaker, frustratedly jabbing at the pause and rewind buttons, and probably still not getting the actual notes ‘cause they’re going so fast.

Caution this gives you bad knees, bad temper, and a headache!!

You could always download the tab,

Tabs a good start, but I’ve found that 90% of the tab you can download is frustrating and unreadable, and is usually inaccurate,

I’ve been a Guitar player for 35 years, and I’ve taught the guitar for a few years.

I teach around 50 students every week, and over the years I’ve worked out the easiest methods and ways of how to learn Guitar solo’s.

Now I’ve put all this work onto Cd’s so you can learn solo’s in an organised, methodical, and easy way, without all of the stress and hassle.

You get a CD with broken down sections of the solo, at various speeds, and the same sections of Bass, Drums, and backing without me playing the solo. Then the whole solo at various speeds, and the whole piece without the solo. All with count-in’s and repeating for several minutes
You also get a complete tab of the solo, with a log of all the lesson procedure. And chord diagrams for the backing. And it’s only £4.99 + postage.

For more details email me at chrissummers6@hotmail.co.uk.

YES!!!! I DID IT!!! my work has been aknowledged in the news!!!! aparently, something i did upset miley cyrus!! (the really nice little hanna montana girl) on yahoo! there was an article about some pictures of her and her friend sitting on the floor playing together and i guess some pictures got leaked and taken the wrong way..... this is what she said about me! :

".... It's SATAN attacking and its just one more thing i have to deal with, but its not something i am going to let slide because im really upset about it..."

YESSSSSS!!!!! SATAN WINS AGAIN!!!! and she says she wont let it slide, so i guess we are in battle now!!! HAHA!!!!! i should challenge her to a rock off!!!

(but on a serious note, it is rare that a talented artist like her comes around and stays the way she has, she is a really nice, innocent, talented, great role model, and it is screwed up that the press has to make everything out to be something it is not. the press disgusts me.) so in all reality, GO MILEY!!!

Rick Rubin, the man who coaxed some of the best studio performances out of the Beastie Boys, L.L. Cool J and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, threw the curtain open on the music industry this weekend. What was exposed was perhaps more uncertainty and frustration than many may have expected.

Get this people:

Another jaw-dropping revelation in the piece is that Columbia is flirting with the idea of asking artists to cut the label in on as much as 50 percent of their touring, merchandise and Internet revenue. Performers have typically been allowed to pocket concert and T-shirt money. As for revenue generated from digital downloads, I did a story recently about how a growing number of artists and music publishers want a larger share of Internet profits, not less, and are girding for a fight.

Cool retro interview from a few years ago. The opening line says it all, "Double Jack Daniels and coke, easy on the ice, with finger sandwiches." Brilliant! Sounds like an intestine tweaker. My favorite part of this article of old was learning that Slash, as a child in Laurel Canyon, contributed animal art work to Joni Mitchell's unpublished book of verses called "The Bestiary". I guess it's not the most interesting thing in the world but it brought me an easy smile.

‘American Idol’ for Bands Will Arrive in October

The American Idol-inspired The Next Great American Band, which seeks to find exactly what its title promises and reward that TV-viewer-approved outfit with a record contract, will premiere in October on Fox. The show is produced by 19 Entertainment, the masterminds behind the mega-successful Idol and So You Think You Can Dance, and mirrors the singing competition in several ways: National auditions have been held to narrow down the applicant pool, and judges will choose ten semi-finalists who will perform music from a different genre each week. Also like Idol, the judges (who — along with the show’s host — have yet to be announced) will offer guidance to American voters, who will ultimately decide the winner.

If this is anything like American Idol, we can assume it will be super-cheezy!

whatever...I nurtured myself on those early records of theirs as a wee lad of 8 years and even as the years progressed and I traveled different musical roads I held quite a few of their tunes near and dear to my heart. As cool as the idea is for them to tour again with a new found sobriety, history has shown that something will be said by a certain someone [Roth] that another someone [Edward] will take great offense and storm out of the sandbox that everyone agreed they could get along in. Get back in there Edward with you shovel and pail and play nice with Diamond Dave. Plus, there's no way I'll pay what I'm expecting the ticket prices to be only to hear them Panama and You Really Got Me. On the other hand, I think it would bitterly ironic if they played Love Walks In or some such Hagar ballad.

There's two that stick out in my mind as far as rock players go. My immediate responses are "Rest In Peace" by Nuno Bettencourt of the band Extreme and "Jump" Ed Van Halen.

Well, there's more than that. Allegedly, former keyboardist Madonna Wayne Gracy [Stephen Gregory Bier, jr] claims he has been left with nothing after years as a key member of Manson's band.'

Apparently band funds were spent on SS sweaters, an engagement ring for his then wife and the wedding itself, swastika wall tiles, Nazi government coat hangers owned by Hitler, and an intact skeleton of a 4 year old Chinese girl.

Manson dismissed the suit as "ridiculous" stating that the skeleton was that of a boy.

The drummer from the mid 90's, Fred Streithorst, quit the band after the singer poured butane all over his drum kit and lit it on fire. Oh yeah, Streithorst was still playing it!

There have been plenty of publicity grabbing stunts in rock & roll over years. Much more than other styles of music. I mean, there's not much newsworthiness in one violinist kicking another during Stravinsky's "Firebird Suite" at the Met [well maybe a little]. But things like Paul McCartney being dead and hearing messages from the grave as the music played backwards, Mama Cass and the ham sandwich thing, and I don't think any of us really think Elvis is dead. But even more intriguing, and perhaps one of the motivators in me wanting to read Richards' autobiography, is the story of how he cut cocaine and his father's ashes and had a party. I think I'd just bring flowers to a grave rather than ingesting a relatives remains. But it's stories like this that make Keith so endearing and down to earth [that was sarcasm]. We have some time to wait, the book's publisher won't be making it available until 2010 citing that Richards has to learn to conjugate more verbs and that his cheerful grumbling whilst jiggling a cigarette at the end of a thought doesn't have to actually be written down.

There was no backstage bathroom at one of the GNR shows so Slash and Izzy had been periodically relieving themselves in corona bottles. Some groupies had made their way backstage and in their eagerness to party finished the six pack of warm, fizzing coronas. There was so much residual alcohol in their urine, the girls got drunk.

So nowadays backstage, no more bottles of this or that, just a water bowl for the dog and pinball machines for the kids.

Jim Volpe claims a man approached him while he was trying to tape Ted Nugent's Ridgefest performance in Chicago. The man who reportedly has no affiliation with Nugent approached Jim Volpe and asked for the camera. Rather than hand over an expensive camera Mr. Volpe offered the tape instead, the man in question replied "it's too late for that now" - Not sure what-the-heck that means. "He got me in a headlock, and the rest is history," Volpe said. It's history except for the fact that Mr. Volpe's girlfriend snatched the camera and ran off with it, leaving her boyfriend in the headlock. It's clear what her priorities are :)

Jim Volpe apparently spent some time in the ER getting head and back wounds treated.

UK government resists music industry pressure, caps copyrights at 50 years

From the article: Music copyrights will remain fixed at 50 years after the British government decided against extending their term to as much as 95 years. In May, the Parliamentary Select Committee on Culture, Media, and Sport had recommended that the term be lengthened to bring it more in line with copyright terms in the rest of the world (95 years in the US).

So this means that in 2012 we can all use the Beatles music however we want? http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20061127-8291.html

I wonder how this affects what Courtney Love was talking about in this article: http://archive.salon.com/tech/feature/2000/06/14/love/print.html

When she said:

" Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA)

Last November, a Congressional aide named Mitch Glazier, with the support of the RIAA, added a "technical amendment" to a bill that defined recorded music as "works for hire" under the 1978 Copyright Act.

He did this after all the hearings on the bill were over. By the time artists found out about the change, it was too late. The bill was on its way to the White House for the president's signature.

That subtle change in copyright law will add billions of dollars to record company bank accounts over the next few years -- billions of dollars that rightfully should have been paid to artists. A "work for hire" is now owned in perpetuity by the record company."

Jimmy Page to Reunite with Jeff Beck for Yardbirds Tour

According to an industry insider, Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck are going to tour as the Yardbirds this fall alongside founding bassist Chris Dreja and drummer Jim McCarty. The tour is said to kick off this October. It’s unclear who will be the reformed Yardbirds’ lead singer (original vocalist Keith Relf died of electrocution in 1976). Eric Clapton, the Yardbirds’ founding guitarist, has no plans to participate, according to the source.

Page and Beck’s tenure in the Yardbirds overlapped by only a few months in 1966, but they have remained close friends since. The British blues legends disbanded in July of 1968, although Dreja and McCarty have been touring steadily under the Yardbirds name since the 1990s, and are currently on the road through August. The band reunited for one night in 1992 when they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

10 Simple Rules of Etiquette for Concerts

According to Cracked.com

THE PERFORMERS

Lead Singers

Do not, under any circumstance, grab the microphone with two hands and close your eyes to sing... ever. Oh, and stop dressing your hands and wrists with strings, bands, henna tattoos, rings and whatever else you're using to try to mask the fact that you aren't playing an instrument. And, stand the fuck up every once in a while. The whole cripple-with-an-inner-ear infection bit got tired when Bono was in his 20s.

Bassists

Hang out in the back, don't move around too much. If you need to talk, then talk to the drummer. No more of this primping and prancing. We want to see you showing off like we want to see some fancy moves from the referee at a football game.

Drummers

We need you guys to start wearing sleeves, thanks.

Also, Drummers

The gloves; you're not bench-pressing here. How much hand protection do you need to grip a couple of sticks that are about the weight and girth of two pretzel logs?

An End to Witty Commentary

As a rock star, you are constantly surrounded by people who think you shit velvet, and those people have probably led you to believe that you're a pretty funny guy. But here's the thing: you're not. Like, at all. If I wanted to see some asshole laugh at a couple of his own nonsensical stories, I'd get drunk at my dad's place. At least there'd be a good fistfight involved.

Just remember, Mick, you're going to need those hilarious anecdotes when you're trying to distract the drunk sorority girls from realizing they're having an orgy in a port-a-john with a septuagenarian.

So, that was simple enough. Now on to the real offenders: the throngs of people stupid enough to pay money to see these assholes in the first place.

THE CONCERTGOERS

No Yelling Out Song Requests

Musicians have these things called set lists, and they are integral with lighting and... never mind, you're drunk. Just stop it.

No Band T-Shirts

Everyone knows that you're not supposed to wear the T-shirt of the band you came to see, but it's a little known fact that wearing any band T-shirt at a concert is also permissible grounds for the use of violence. We get it, you really like music and were able to find a T-shirt of an obscure band that you'd never heard of until you found the T-Shirt. Nerf Herder is a favorite of yours? Really? I know, your buddies told you it's a pretty cool shirt, but why don't you save it for your Muff Diving class tomorrow morning.

Do Not Make Out at Concerts

We're glad you and your on-again, off-again boyfriend/girlfriend rekindled your medium-rare romance for a night, but this isn't either of your parents' basements. Stand still, look at your stylish retro sneakers and remind yourself over and over again that your mother wasn't lying when she said you were the most unique little alterna-snowflake in the universe. And, speaking of you people with the retro sneakers...

Enough With the Ironic Facial Hair

See that guy? That's James Taylor. He is one of the few people who could rock a mustache and get away with it. You, ironic-facial-hair guy, are not. I know, the singer from that band you like looks cool with a handlebar mustache so you figure, why not? Or, maybe you think that making yourself brazenly ugly beats being just ordinarily ugly. The fact is that if you're the type of person who is wearing ironic facial hair to a rock concert, you do not need to be sabotaging your chances of getting laid any more than the gene pool already has.

Stop Taking Pictures With Your Cell Phones

You people spend $100 to go to a concert so that you can watch the entire event on a 3-inch by 2-inch, green-lit, night-vision screen. Rather than enjoying the music, you spend your time trying to determine if that speck that looks like a glow-in-the-dark amoeba swimming around in a cloudy bucket of piss is Bono or the Edge.

We're going to take a wild guess and say that you are the same people, who as parents, will spend your entire family vacations taking pictures rather than taking a vacation. You'll be too busy making your kids look like they're enjoying themselves when you say "cheese" to ever enjoy your kids.

All of that is fine and good. We don't mind that your children will grow to hate you. If it weren't for parents like you, a lot of great angry rock music would never have existed. But once you start ruining the very concerts you helped create, we draw the line.

What Is PARIS HILTON Doing Inside The New SMASHING PUMPKINS CD?

I think it's a good question. At first I thought maybe they were making fun of her being that "Zeitgeist" is defined:

So ok American society is pathetic in it's adoration of a woman who does nothing really other than be rich because her parents are, to my knowledge she's never contributed anything to society that would warrant such adoration but I'm open to being proved wrong. But according to the article Billy Corgan and her are friends. So why is she on the cover of the Pumpkins new album? If it's for marketing reasons, that's gross. I haven't heard the new album, I've only heard the song in the vid, "Tarantula". I can't say I like it. Maybe it will grow on me, but I'm stuck on why she's on the cover..

#1 - Bad Ass
Jobriath Takes Times Square!
In 1973, Elektra Records subtly announced the eponymous debut album by America's first openly gay rock star by unveiling a 42-foot Times Square billboard of the self-styled "true fairy" Jobriath as a naked statue. The album bombed and Elektra canceled a live show featuring Jobriath riding a giant hydraulic penis while dressed as Marlene Dietrich. Jobriath himself maintained until his 1983 AIDS-related death that "the butt on that statue was lousy."

That's pretty awesome, so you're near someone with an iPod or an iPhone, you see/sample their music collection and can buy the songs in them directly to your device, no computer necessary. It's kind of a like a real world music discovery network, from actual people to people. So you see a blazingly hot women on the street with an iPod and you can find out what songs she likes, this could create a whole new brand of stalker. This is really interesting, I can imagine real world meeting places, bars, coffee shops, barber shops, you name it.

DEF LEPPARD Guitarist On Near-Fight With DANZIG: 'He Was Mad About His Soup Getting Spilt'

On rumored fight between the DEF LEPPARD and DANZIG camps at a European festival back in 1993:

"He [Danzig] made a rude comment to my wife, and somebody, not me, gave him a bit of a kick from behind, and I guess he was mad about his soup getting spilt. It must've been really good soup for him to get that upset, but it was Germany, so the soup probably couldn't have been that good; it was probably really, really dark, with all sorts of nasty stuff in it. Anyway, Phil Collen (Vivian's fellow DEF LEP guitarist) was ready to go — he's a black belt in karate, but Danzig backed down. It really was over nothing, other than that bowl of soup."

Funny stuff, seems Danzig is either a pansy or the soup just wasn't worth a brawl :) !

Washburn Guitar Turns 125 Y'all

Washburn Guitar is turning 125 years of age. As a guitar player, I always thought Fender and Gibson were probably the oldest and was surprised to read about Washburn's history in Chicago. They have some killer axes that you guys should check out. Here's the official news:

Washburn Guitars Celebrates 125 Years of History and Innovation

From Delta Blues to Modern Rock, Washburn Stringed Instruments Roll With the Times

Chicago, IL. — July 10, 2007— Washburn Guitars, a division of US Music Corporation, is celebrating 125 years of stringed instrument innovations. From the 1880’s to today, Washburn has been producing stringed instruments for amateur and professional musicians combining design, innovation and technology to deliver quality tools to artists across all genres. Washburn guitars have been played by classic guitar icons including Greg Allman and Bob Dylan. Today rockers such as Nick Cantanese of Black Label Society, Scott Ian of Anthrax and Joe Trohman of Fall Out Boy rely on Washburn to create the signature sounds that drive modern music.

In 1882 George Washburn Lyon established Washburn Guitars in a small Chicago factory near Chicago’s famous Maxwell Street. As a first entry point for thousands of African-Americans arriving from the Mississippi Delta, Maxwell Street was a hotbed for Delta Blues – a style of music that radically shaped the emerging sound of rock and roll.
Washburn’s close proximity to Maxwell Street influenced Washburn instrument design to reflect and fuel a musical culture that shaped the roots of rock and roll.

“From the early blues players who shaped rock ‘n roll to emerging guitar virtuosos, Washburn stringed instruments have been there to provide the quality and innovation needed for musical creativity,” said Rudy Schlacher, CEO of US Music Corp. “We are proud to be a leader in design, innovation and technology for great instruments and are dedicated to providing musicians with the best possible gear, while adhering to the strict quality and attention to detail that our company was built upon.”

Washburn’s award-winning instruments are endorsed by both professional as well as amateur musicians who rely on the company’s dedication to high standards of quality to meet their creative needs. Washburn innovative designs include features such as the Buzz Feiten Tuning System, which allows for a perfectly tuned guitar, and the Stephens Extended Cutaway, a modification of the standard bolt neck construction that allows for easy access to the upper register of the guitar fret board.

“The moment I picked up a Washburn Idol, I knew that this was going to be the guitar for me,” said Joe Trohman, lead guitarist for Fall Out Boy. “The neck fits right into my hand and the tone works so well with the music we play. The Idol is a classic, but with killer features and quality that make it unique.”

Washburn’s Chicago-based U.S. Custom Shop crafts top-quality guitars to exact specification for world famous guitarists, including Paul Stanley of Kiss, Greb Tribbett of Mudvayne, John Donais of Shadows Fall and Nuno Bettencourt. Washburn handmade U.S. Custom Shop Guitars are also available through special order to the general public. Free videos of the Washburn U.S. Custom Shop in action are available online at the Washburn website at http://www.Washburn.com.

"Smashing Pumpkins will release four different versions of new album 'Zeitgeist' in the US

The standard version features twelve tracks, but three further versions will be released at various locations.

Albums sold at Best Buy stores include the bonus track 'Death From Above' while those sold at Target will feature the song 'Zeitgeist'. Additionally, the iTunes version of the album has a bonus track entitled 'Stellar'.

'Zeitgeist' is the first album from the band since they reunited last year, and is scheduled for release on July 17"

Um, this sounds pretty confusing. Maybe their next album will be different depending on where the moon sits in the sky and what color underwear you're wearing when you buy it.

I love the Pumpkins, at least I used to. I'm excited about the new album. Who buys CD's anyway?
