by Jon Buckland
In the last two years, Coldplay has gone from an obscure band from the UK to a worldwide phenomenon. Twenty-four year-old guitarist Jon Buckland didn't expect to become the newest English guitar hero. With influences ranging from Kevin Shields (from My Bloody Valentine), Nick Cave, George Harrison, and Keith Richards, Buckland's layered guitar sounds are also reminiscent of other English players like the Edge and Andy Summers.
GuitarPort Online spent some time with Buckland before his recent show at the Dodge Theatre in Phoenix, AR and he gave us this delay setting and played the intro for "In My Place" from their recent recording A Rush of Blood to the Head.
