I hear way too often from beginning players 'why do I need this?', meaning scales, and so we then start talking about what they listen to. You can't compose, improvise, or otherwise create without scales. Enough, no more soapboxing for me, but here in this lesson is the beginning of a multi-part conversation that begins with C major and it's relative A minor.
