Meh...it's a forum. It'll be here, would still be nice if they built in some insentive to bring guys back (like the instructor pages etc.) ...but the good news is your rant will not go unread do to the overwhelming lack of new posts! 
So here's the thing....if you haven't bought it already, check out effortless mastery by Kenny Werner. Great book! Talks a lot about not linking how you feel about yourself (your self worth) with your last solo (be it good or not so good)...amongst other things. And if I may add it's not that you sucked compared to the company you were playing with, they just happened to be more comfortable with the material you guys were playing than you were. Thats all. Shake it off, and don't let your playing and how you feel about it at one point over one session, bring you down. Your gonna have those moments no matter how good you get, forever. See? Don't dwell on it, it is what it is, it's done, there's always next time. ;)

Joba I know what you mean. This time last year guitar.com was great, I was on for at least half an hour each day! Now Im lucky to login! Hopefully this new setup will pick up... Anywhere we can post new works?!!!

Joba, you're going about it all wrong. When someone is better than you, consider it inspiration. When you have a bad night, chalk it up to a bad night and practice harder for next time.
If someone is better than you and makes you feel bad about it on purpose, know that you are a better musician than them because being one isn't about technique alone.

It seems like everytime I log on, the site has changed.  Oh how I miss the old days...

Yea.  I have to keep your guys advice in mind.  I had it in my head today to copy some solo licks off a Martin Taylor recording.  I couldn't even get the first line of the head down in time and I gave up and turned on the computer.

Yea, the site sucks but I still check in occasionally. A few guys on here have been so very kind in helping with my boy's music that I like to get caught up from time to time.

The Golden Age has ended, also most of you are boring.

When I hear people that play better than I do, I am inspired to practice even harder. I want to be just as good as or even better than them (at least someday). I am often proud of my progress, even the very little that I make and I will get better from there.

then someone flooded everything with pictures of a retard and i think don had some kind of emotional break down fueled by his understanding that when your life is so fucked up you cant control a bunch of hormonal 14 year olds who've mostly never seen a vagina you should probably off yourself

The Corporate machine has killed this place.

That's what corporations do with things that are good and unique.

They suck the life from them with their infectious commercialism like a cancer.

I remember when Scott the ice road trucker used to post here and people like Todd who I've seen appear on an English forum lol

back in the crazy days when misc was king.

Nostalgia is a funny thing but this site is probably a victim of facebook. Sad but probably true.
