high e problem

I have a problem with my Jackson Dinky DK2M where when I play open string pulloffs on the high e (think Rush-Spirit of Radio)the string slips off the edge of the fret. I's thinking maybe the nut needs to be replaced, but I'm not sure. Any suggestions?
