Inspiration!

Where do you get your inspiration to write? Do you get every little idea down and force it into a song? Lately I've been opening my chord book to a random page and just trying to work whatever page I land on into a chord progression - definatley forcing me to work on my weak spots [chords - I know a bunch, but I tend to stay with the ones I love].
