A weird band situation

Well, I'm now jamming with some dudes, a singer and a drummer. We can't seem to find a bassist, so I'm stuck playing bass with my feet on a Korg 'PadKONTROL' triggering a bass synth in GB. I'm actually getting not bad at it, but it's not half as much fun as if we had a real bassist, plus I have to remain seated. Ahhh well, the things we do to go play, eh?
Anyone else get stuck with some wierd 'off' duties in their bands?
