What is a reliable brand of guitars?

I've been playing guitar for two years. Sure it's not a whole heck of a lot of experience, but I'm looking for the most professional gear I can. I'm in the early production of a band, and I desperately need a better electric guitar if I'm ever to perform. Being 13 years old, there is a lot of time for my career to blossom. I'd like to know what guitar manufacturer I should stick with throughout my rock n' rollin' life. I'm open to any suggestions. What kind of guitar should I buy?
