Just curious if there are others platpicking classical pieces. I have been learning some Bach pieces as well as pieces from other composers. So far my repetoire includes

Bach's Sonata for Solo Violin # 1, BWV 1001 Presto
Bach's Prelude in Dm, BWV 999
Bach's Well Tempered Clavier, Prelude 1, BWV 846
Bach's Prelude in Am, BWV 1013 Allemande

Paganini's Moto Perpetuo
Paganini's Caprice XVI

Tarrega's Recuerdos de a la Alhambra

Villa Lobos's Etude 1
Villa Lobos Prelude 2

Carcassi Op 60 # 7
Carcassi Op 60 # 19

You can hear recordings of some of these on my myspace page.

Always looking for new suggestions. I generally like pieces with lots of movement and complexity (and also have an affinity for challenging pieces!)

later,

brian

ive been trying to flatpick paganini's 24th

This is probably a rediculously stupid question....

What is flatpicking? (just using a pick???)

It's not exactly "classical" but I flatpick Classical Gas on a 12 string.

(Also not a stupid question... Yeah, it's using a regular "flat" pick. As opposed to using fingerpicks.)

If it sounds good, there is nothing wrong with flatpicking. There are just a lot of pieces that could not possibly be played without the use of fingers.
