Hi,

I just bought some tuning keys for my acoustic. Problem is i didn't look and i thought they were individual, not all put onto a plate. So now i have smething that seems to have been made for an 8 string. Can i take those apart and use them? or chop one off? I think the spacing is wrong and i wont be able to fit them.

Not sure what to do. My guitars arent here, Im on a trip.

Thanks

Theoretically you could chop the plate to separate them. But you'll then find you don't have enough screwholes to mount the individual machines.

The best would be to return the tuners and get a set of individual ones.

Buy the right one.
If you rig it to work you will always wish you had just done it right in the first place.
