how does everyone feel about DT? personally they are my favorite band. every thing they do is unbelievably amazing, and i can't wait until june 5, when Systematic Chaos comes out on CD and DVD. also on August 21, im seeing them in Boston. John petrucci is an amazing guitarist, who has recently turned into a bear, and shreds HARD! john myung is arguably the t bassist around, at least who plays a 6 string. mike portnoy is definatly the best drummer hands down. i could honestly talk about DT for days on end. Anyway, how does everybody else feel about them? and also has anybody heard the string tribute to them? its one of the best string tributes ive ever heard

I saw them at The Strand Theatre in Providence, R.I. circa '95. The crowd was stoic and uninterested until they played 'Mirror' and a pit started. LaBrie broke out into satirical laughter at what I can only imagine was his disgust for the crowds' unbridled, uncultured disposition. They'd played technically virtuous tunes like 'Erotomania' just minutes before in their set and not so much as a cheer nor jeer from the audience.

I enjoy skinny skiing, heckling figure skaters, flamenco guitar, the blue stuff you put your combs in, good drummers, focaccia bread and coffee out of a french press

But you share citizenship with one of the greatest prog rock bands ever. When "Roll The Bones" came out, I saw the tour instead of buying the album. Not the greatest move on my part because the only tunes I knew at the show were "Spirit of the Radio" and "Closer to the Heart". That's really all I needed to hear I guess though because "Roll the Bones" was really not my favorite disc of theirs.

I love Dream Theater. I saw their Live At Budokan concert on some obscure concert channel at my aunt's house one night, and I was hooked. I love everything about that band, from Jordan Rudess's keys to John Myung's awesome bass skills. Not to mention John Petrucci might be the best shredder I've heard that actually plays in a band and not just some instrumental crap.

I get to go see them in August in Cleveland. I'm also buying that new album as soon as it comes out.

I\'ve seen them live and met all of them. They are all great musicians and I love to watch the virtuosity of it all. However I will also say that the sum of that band is not greater then the individule parts. Just my opinion though....

I like the instrumental stuff petrucci and rudess did awhile back.

Too true, Funky. They're all great, and I love their individual side "Projects" too!

I haven't really listened to them so much, but for what I've heard I think they're really good musicians. You guys can check my little blog on playing one of their songs if you like. Though they're great musicians no doubt I'm going have to side with Funky, they are as good apart as they're together.
