hey, i have a question. I am going to be playing for my school on friday and i want to show them that i dont play just one genre. i need to find a song that is easy enough to learn in three days. the song im playing is more metal so i need to get a softer sounding song but i dont want to have to play chords but if i have to then i guess i have to. any suggestions are appriciated thanks :)

Well, if your playing by yourself, chords are kind of a must. If you are playing with someone else, and they can play chords, try a blues tune?

make sure you dont just play a one stringed song or youll get a pathetic crowd reaction...playing a song with chords is essential to pleasing a crowd, and if youre not playing chords because they are too hard, then you probably shouldn't be performing...not to disuade your dreams hombre, but I'd hate to see you give up because youve embarassed yourself...and ive been playing for 13 years, so if youre wondering why im telling you this, its probably because i was there at one point, and wish someone would've told me to slow down and practice before trying to show off my skills i didn't posses yet

Hmmmmmm... I think you need to have someone backing you up if you are going to perform in front of others for the first time. It takes the pressure off of you just a bit. But if it is something you really want to do, alone, then learn the chords of the song, there bro. It will fill in the spaces, tremendously.
