I was reading a snippet in a Rolling Stone about punk bands, and they mentioned 2 bands whose names I thought were hilarious, ie: Teenage Jesus and the Jerks, and Dirty Rotten Imbeciles, LOL.

Anybody got any other funny band names?

Dirty Rotten Imbiciles were more popularly known as DRI. The toured with 2nd wave american punk bands of the early 80s .....ie Desendents, Minor Threat, SOA, DOA and other such notibles as Blanks 77 and regurgitated Circle Jerks and MDC

I saw DRI in concert when I was 15 years old and just about died in the moshpit. Saw the Circle Jerks around that same time too. I'm too old for that sh*t now, but it was good times. They sure don't name 'em like they used to. Of course my favorite is the Butthole Surfers. I can't say their name without laughing, but their music ROCKS!!

Whenever I start to feel down on myself as a musician and start thinking, "man, I suck..." (which happens every so often because I'm LAZY and I don't practice enough), I always remember punk music. >:-)

Yeah, me too :) But the closest I've ever gotten to listening to punk is Joan Jett. And I don't think she's real punk.
