I'm a major fan of JP he inspired me to play seriously, for me I think that the first 4 albums are his best work and my faves are 1 and 2, I'm into the folk stuff he does as well like, black mountain side/white summer, I like physical graphiti. especially Kashmir and in my time of dying. people always go on about Clapton but for me Page and Hendrix are the greatest. page is the king of repeating riffs, hes a genius. I wonder how he did it. it must be all that black majik.

My life is so saturated with Led Zeppelin and Jimmy Page everyday that I don't think I can pick one or even a few of my favorites.

My father was a promoter, so I got to meet, and play with, a lot of cool players. As far as pure guitarists go, Gilmour who is just WAY too humble in my opinion, was the most freindly of them all. He just has a way of playing that seems to drip out of his fingers. Townshend, who is really not all that knowledgeable when it comes to theory, was a bit wilder and "show-offy". (Note to grammer police: I know "show-offy" is not a word.) Page, if my memory serves me correctly, had a bit more of a chip on his shoulder than the rest, (he's also well versed in theory and technique,) though still provided some pointers for me. He broke down Bron-Y-Aur Stomp and showed me how to play it on a regular tuned, rather than open tuned, guitar. That was over 20 years ago. Not like I was friends with any of these people, and Jimmy seemed to give the impression that he was there only because I was the son of the promoter. Still he followed through, so I have to give him that. (Many others just wouldn't be bothered.)

Of all the guys I had a chance to "jam" with, those three are my favorites and Gilmour tops them all, just because of his personality. Not saying Page is a lesser player, just personality wise, for the 60 minutes or so I spent with each of them, Page was the most "aloof" of the bunch.

I do own everything that Page has ever recorded and released, and I also own all of Gilmour's stuff. Between the two, it's always a toss-up which way to go.

Jimmy Page was one of the first players that I got in to and started to emulate, and I think that he was very influential and talented for his time.
I thought I heard he got carpel tunnel or something like that?

How many Guitarists does it take to Screw in a lightbulb? Ten. One to do it, and nine others to sit at the back of the room with their arms crossed and tal about how they could do it better.

I think it depends on how you're asking. I think he's a bit sloppy as far as technique, or at least he was in his heroin days, I haven't heard much of his stuff since Zeppelin. However I also think he's one of the most creative studio minded guitarists ever along with Les Paul, Brian May, and a few otehrs.
