And when i wanted to post it just got ma back to the forum page without my post. When I clicked back there was just an empty new topic box.So I won`t write again (althouugh I really wrote it well) because I doubt I would change something about your opinion here because most people always know who`s better for them.
So who`s better for you?

I'm a Purple guy if you must ask. Zep were more experimental or whatever you want to call them and there are several tunes I like but Purple was a tighter act I think and I like that. I'll take Ritchie and Jon over Jimmy.

Well, Zeppelin really brought a lot of new stuff to rock`n`roll.
I prefer them because they had a more versatile sound with some fine work by Jimmy on acoustic.Purple has an advantage of Lord but Paul Jones also did some quality work on many different instruments.I aslo find Bonham better, not that Paice is bad, but Bonham would in songs like Achilles Last Stand really turn into lead.
Guitarists - now this is also eternal battle (not between guitarists but among the fans). They are both World Class, will never be surpassed and are immortal.I love Jimmy more just because I find he looks more cool, while Blackomre looks like a wizard. And sounds so too.
Vocals - pretty much the same thing as with the guitarists.Gillan had a bigger voice range, Plant had a stronger sound.
There`s lot more about this, but actually it comes at the same - They are both magnificent.

I'd have to say Deep Purple as a whole. No particular reason, I just like them more than Zep. I like songs like "Space Truckin" "Burn" "Highway Star" and "My Woman from Tokyo." I'm not saying one is better than the other, it's just my personal preference.

I have Deep Purple's first album, Shades of Deep Purple. Love their version of "Hey Joe" (Blackmore wrote it even though Jimi made it famous.)

However, I prefer Zep on the whole. Both great groups. Both putting out great music. I just gravitate to the experimental more than the standard.

I don't see how these are even comparable. Zep is in a class way above Deep Purple. But that's just me.

zeplin has done more for me. Page had a very loose style (o.k. sloppy) that actually worked with his creativity. It's like when you go to an art useum and look at a kindinsky, you say i could do that, that's easy...but would you have come up with it? He's creative and i respect that despite his sloppiness. I don't have much to say about deep p. although they more than decent. I grew up with both of these bands, neither is my fav. but i like them both.

It's not really fair to compair the two. They're just two completely different bands who happend to come out around the same time. Both excellent bands, but excellent in their own way. Everytime I reply, I keep getting a blank screen and it doesn't post. In case this get's through, is anybody beside me and Johnny getting this?

Happens to me sometimes, but it's not a regular occurance. Regular enough that I copy each post I make BEFORE I click the post button. Just in case. Funny. This same thing would happen to me on the old g.com a lot more often than it's happened here.

here's the trick you should do after typing out a long summation. highlight the whole thing ,right click and hit COPY. that way you stil have it in case of a problem. i always do that just in case...sometimes i'll even open a new text document and paste it in there............ as for zep vs purple...i would say there are more zep songs i connect to than purple songs. and i know i have heard many more zep songs due to the oversaturation of them on the radio. and zep was certainly more diverse in it's musical styles than purple. pretty much a little bit for everyone. but there are quite a few blackmore/purple/rainbow tunes that i really dig. i really like the joe lynn turner material and a few of the grahm bonnet tunes. and machine head is one damn fine album all the way thru. i saw the perfect strangers tour and it was a really good show. some killer tunes there as well....
