We all know that famous Ozzy hit, Crazy Train. Here's something interesting, though. ya see, Micheal Angelo Batio has made a cover of this song as a "Tribute to Randy". Tell me what you think.

Well,

The drums suck. The concept is pretty good...it's nice to hear some melody in his playing for once. Aside from some awkward sounding dubs, I like the meddley/segue...and this is probably one of the more musical things I have ever heard from Mike.

michael has always big a big fan of randy. i've heard him work this song a few times before. he's got a utube vid or two of crazy train. better versions than this one. just too robotic. and i don't really care for the background either. but i do like his playing. very clean.

Sounds like Randy on Malmsteem-oids (yeah, I tend to oversimplify some stuff). It's not bad but I still prefer the original. I feel certain songs have a certain magic stemming from various or all elements of their playing, their band and their equipment and if any of these elements is altered the magic is lost. This is one of those cases were I don't feel the magic of the original in the cover.
