i think paul gilbert is an amazing musician. before i saw G3 i hadn't really heard of him, but when i saw him is was blown away. and now when i do more research on him, and his earlier projects, i like him more and more. i mean anybody who can think to turn an electric drill into a tremolo machine has to have some sort of skill. Mr. Big was like a supergroup, i mean just gilbert and sheehan on the same stage is a miracle! i know how cap'n fantastic feels about him, having auditioned for one of his bands in Vegas, but how about the rest of you? is he amazing or what? and if you haven't heard of him, get out of my yard!!!

Paul's the man. When the words "rock guitarist" are mentioned, he immediately comes to mind. This solo's awesome.
I've studied, restudied and lived his first REH video. The guy's awesome. So inventive, so clean, so fast, but not too fast...

I love him! I prefer Racer X over Mr.Big, the reason why is because most of the instrumentals for Racer X are amazing, even though the singer is horrible in my opinion. I still like Mr.Big though, they have a much better singer in my opinion.

Paul is awesome! a very nice guy in addition to being a great guitarist.

I'm pretty sure EVH did the drill thing first when he recorded "poundcake" but I could be wrong. I guess it doesn't really matter who does it first.....

Nope, Paul was doing it way before... (He even did it on his first Hot Licks video, WHICH I can't reccommend enough, it's awesome!)

Also, I prefer the RacerX vox to Mr Big, sounds more fun more "metal"...

i am going to have to disagree with both Zombre and Godly Moose. i prefer Mr. Big to racer x. yes the racer x instrumentals are good, but Mr. Big has a better singer, and arguably the best rock and roll bassists billy sheehan, plus, their cover of wild world is amazing! don't get me wrong, racer x is amazing, but in my mind at least, mr big is better. but still paul gilbert is one of the best!
