Seriously, I think it's crap getting rocks thrown at ya when you're playing for a bunch of people... You don't like the band, then please, just don't go to the show! You know? In my hometown some assholes were throwing shoes at the band, and I swear that it was like 1 or 2 dudes really drunk ruining it for everyone else.

And yes, I like Nickelback... I think they're a great rock band...

I don't agree with throwing stuff, but I'm not a fan of Nickelback at all. They covered "Sharp Dressed Man" at VH1's Rock Honors, and they completely butchered it.

I enjoy skinny skiing, heckling figure skaters, flamenco guitar, the blue stuff you put your combs in, good drummers, focaccia bread and coffee out of a french press

Well, I mean hey... If you don't want to see Nickelback, then DON'T buy a ticket and go see the concert.... You know?
Unbelievable... I remember the guys in GP here that were throwing shoes at Chad and the band... heh They'd have beaten Chad to death with one hand tied behind their backs... I think to some degree, people know it pisses Kroeger off, so they take it to the next level, and Chad doesn't deal with it well (He shouldn't have to...)

I maintain that Nickelback is a great rock band, I love their tunes and their sound... In GP, Chad said " You see someone throwing something...Fxxx'n punch him in the face..." It stopped. hehehe It could have been a mob here, those dudes would have been trampled to death!

Also, when they played here it was 30 below outside... hehehehe The people had to come and grovel for their shoes after, so kinda funny...

I think I would actually buy the ticket just to go and throw something at them. I want to kill my radio every time one of their corny-ass songs come on Every one of their songs has the same exact feel. The singer has that annoying out-dated low-throat Creed voice, that just blows. And that song they have about being a moviestar or something, those lyrics sound little my 14 year old brother wrote those. There's just not a lot of talent involved with that band. They're not doing anything unique or different that I can appreciate. I've always thought of them as being the perfect example of the most generic form of rock, ever!

And what, good sir, is your definition of "good" music?

There is a concept that, in music school, they desperately try to teach you. Tolerance. You don't have to like someone's music, but that's no reason to be hateful towards them. Rather, as a musician, you should still be able to listen to it and come up with a convincing reason why you don't like it. You would also quickly find that, even in music that you don't particularly like, there are small parts you can appreciate. Chord progressions. A certain note choice. Harmonic and rhythmic structures.

Of course, this is the PROFESSIONAL way to act, and sadly, most people do not act this way.

Like Zombre said....if you don't like the band's music, then don't buy their CD's or pay for their concerts. It's a simple concept.

man...on one side...they're making their music and doing well. they're human...they don't need people bothering them do their job.

on the other hand...that rockstar song is the worst piece of overproduced psuedo-rock trash i've ever heard.

Just my opinion, but I think Creed and Nickelback sound nothing alike... If anything Kroeger sounds like a kind of Kurt Cobain meets Chris Cornell. Honestly, he doesn't do the pseudo-pearljam/cher thing...

But hey, it's all good everyone's entitled to like and dislike what they want, right? lol

an excerpt:

"I wanna be great like Elvis without the tassels
Hire eight body guards that love to beat up assholes
Sign a couple autographs
So I can eat my meals for free
--(I'll have the quesadilla, ha-ha,)--

I'm gonna dress my ass
with the latest fashion
Get a front door key to the Playboy mansion"

It's just music. It's not like it's the cure for cancer or anything. heh I like that song, I don't know why, nor do I care, I just do. Besides, it's not the ONLY thing I listen to... (I listen to the required geek rock, technical geniuses, jazz masters, and classical thwog, too... Heck, even AFI, lol)
