This thread is for the broadening of Gcom's musical horizons. Hopefully, we can all find something new to listen to.

Post the name of the band, a brief description, and a URL where we can find them.

Any genre is fine; I'm sure there are fans of all kinds of music here. I'll start:

Storyhill

An folk-pop duo best known for their tight vocal harmonies and dueling acoustic guitars. They are most popular out West and in the Upper Midwest, but tour all over the country.

" laidlaw " - southern rock/country feel

i saw them live once and i was impressed with the lead guitarist and the singer wasnt bad.

they did a few originals and a few covers, obviously had some talent, but i havent heard much from them since then.
i dont know whether they are still together or not.

i went to see ac dc one time and the opening act was called " the poor " they were kind of metallica-ish but not really that good to me.

Tourniquet

A Christian metal band that, in my opinion, has extremely talented musicians. A solid metal band, with a lot of Christian influence. My favorite ablum by them is definetely Crawl to China, the whole album is solid and the lyrics are just awesome. Check these guys out if you're looking for a new metal band to listen to.

Corner Pocket

They're a band out of the north Texas area that has a smokin' singer. I've seen them a couple of times. One of my friends knows their guitarist personally.

The American Tragedy

A local rock band that I've managed to see a couple of times. They always put on a good show, and their music is really cool. The songs "Fig Leaf" and "Atlantis" are my personal favorites.

I dunno their website, but this band Flyleaf recently fell into my lap... I like i, kinda nu-metalish but for some reason I find it to be pretty good. The singer has an interesting style... she has quite a scream and is really breathy.

Annihilator

They're more a thrash metal band and come from Ottawa/Vancouver, Canada.
If you listen to a few of their songs you may think they're a "comedy metal" band, but then they have more serious songs too. IE: Songs named kraf dinner and Brain Dance both have lyrics that seem like they're meant for entertainment (which isnt bad). And then there's Phoenix Rising and All For You, which are more serious.
