You do realize you have made at least 4 new topics that practically say nothing, right?

He probably just got himself a new Strat and is jazzed about it.

they're alright, I like them for certain things. they're really good for those very high toned leads, even on clean they usually sound very bright. if you're using an SSS of course. I prefer humbucked guitars for my more serious less bluesy/pink floyd leads. I also prefer humbucked guitars for rhythm, so I'm a bit conflicted on fenders but I don't mind them at all.

I like them because they're light, they can take a pounding, they're fairly inexpensive, versitle, and I like that bright punchy tone. I don't use much distortion these days, so the strat works perfect for me. I own an American Standard, a very early Schecter strat clone, which is very well made (circa 1983), and one I just built. It has a Japanese strat body,(alder), a Warmouth neck with an ebony fretboard, DiMarzio pickups, two Area 58's in the mid and neck, and an Area 61 in the bridge position, a Wilkinson trem, Gotoh mini 510 tuners. I gotta' say the DiMarzio Area 58's and 61's are the best single coil pickups I have ever used! They have that classic strat sound, and no hum. The best way I can discribe them is the neck pickup reminds me of Stevie Ray Vaughn's "Lenny", and the bridge sounds like something from Dire Straits first album.

I like the strat bodys, they ride well. I've always liked the sound of a nice, clean single coil, although they sound thin on some stuff. The only thing I don't like is the fret radius. I really prefer a fat humbucker and a flatter neck. The vibrato's are pretty crappy too.

I love the Warmouth neck on my new one. I have never had a strat that felt like that. The radius feels nice and flat. I'm also a big fan of ebony fretboards. I think I've finally found the guitar I can't part with.

I've really wanted to try those Warmoth necks with the compound radius.

At first I thought I was crazy for spending as much as I did on it. Now I have a very different take on that. It was worth every penny!
