This site has some good lessons that you can print for free. It has a bunch of scales and chords
you can print out.

I have been taking lessons since last october...wait...it was september...no...I mean june. OK OK....I have lots of books and cd's but nothing works better than having an instructor work with you. IMO

Second that on the instructor. You can buy all the books you want, and look up all the internet lessons you can find, but if you start out with bad technique, you're not going very far. The unfortunate thing about written lessons is that they can't watch you and tell you when you're doing something wrong. Unlearning bad technique has ended the quest for a lot of people.

Not denying the value here, but the value is more for someone who already knows all the basics and has the patience, AND DRIVE, to continue on themselves. Nothing like having an instructor to push you along!

Yep! When I get into a rut my intructor helps me get out of it by giving me a new song or scale to work on. Otherwise its easy to get stuck.
