Im planning to buy a new guitar and im not sure what to buy. I have used humbuckers for a while now and would like to try single coils. I have looked at a Fat Strat that has both pickups but I do NOT want a tremolo. Dpes anyone have an idea about suitable guitars at a reasonable price? :)

you know, i think i may own the guitar of your dreams right now. i made myself a WARMOTh stratocaster 1 humbucker at the bridge and 2 single coils (fender texas specials) with a hard tail bridge. just a players guitar all around. it is the guitar i grab when i know i just want to play all sorts of stuff. now i dont know what your price range is, i built mine for around $900 and im assuming that is probably out of your range by a bit. i would go online and look for a hardtail fat strat made in mexicop.... they are hard to find, but they are out there. great little guitars.

You could try out a Telecaster.

imo the ultimate owners of the single coil. I have a real thing for tele's at the moment and I think with your previous love for hummbuckers it could be up your street. I always found teles to have a more grungy sound than strats which I like.

Thank you for the replies. I'm was thinking about a Tele some time ago. Maby I will try one out. I found a Les Paul BFG too. It has a P-90 in neck position and a Burstbucker in bridge. Only problem is that it costs about $1500 here. But it looks really nice.
