I think I mentioned somewhere that the local rag had contacted me about doing an article about me, my mobile recording service, and my studio.

First I'll talk about my mobile service that caught their attention. I have a roland VS880EX unit that is a pain to do anything on but lay down ideas or full songs live. I moved in September into a big house and am renovating the lower level into a 10000 square foot studio, and it's all kinda not fun to be hangin out down their, nor does it sound good so it's not a good recording spot yet [I've only recently finished framing and wiring - no drywall, insulation etc yet.] So of course I wanna continue recording cause it's one of my big hobbies so I run around with the roland and record people's jams, and then mix it at home in the big protools system. So yeah, they do an article.

I get the paper today and they always have a mini paper called The Hub in the middle that is seperate, and it's the entertainment section. And front page, full page is me - I thought it'd be a little blurb or something, but no its a full page photo and a good 3/4 page article. So that was at like 6 this morning. I go to my crappy 9-5, and when I get home the telephone mailbox is full. 15 messages. I'm booked for just under two weeks, and then later in May, and then on june 21 some pub needs a FOH soundman and they agreed to my ridiculous wage [ok it's not so ridiculous when you consider I'm using all my own mics - however I just threw it out there to see what they said]. And then this magician asked when I could do a video demo of his show and I told him to re-read the article. And then another dude asked me to transfer some old cassette's of his piano-playing aunt to CD.

And then there was 6 other calls but there was no room for them to leave messages. I imagine they will call back tomorrow or send me an email.

Anyway, just wanted to share this good news, though I dont know what to do with my guitar students... I havent double booked anything but sometimes i need to sleep.
