The Epiphone valve Junior amp looks and sounds like a very versitile amp and was thinking about purchasing it. Does anybody have any suggestions as I am sure I want to purchase but just want to make sure. I noticed it has very good reviews.

I can't say much because I don't have one but I would be very inerested in your opinion of it if you do buy one. you are right the reviews are very good and it seems like a good value, let us know how you like it if you buy it.

Well, I suggested it in the first place, so I'll stick with it.

As I said we use it in the studio ALL the time. If someone doesn't initially record through it, we'll probably be reamping and the reamp signal will end up there sooner or later.

Even though it only has a single knob, "volume," you can still get different flavors by plugging into different speakers. The 8" that comes with the combo is pretty decent, but we will also plug it into our Dean Markley 4x12, or a Marshall 1960a, or any other cab, or combo that has a separate speaker connection. It runs them all with ease and you get slight variations in overall tone when changing speakers.

I have NOTHING bad to say about this amp. It's even loud enough to gig with if you're micing it.

I like the amp but I gotta tell ya.. forget the combo and get the head/cab. That 8" speaker in the combo is really not good. Also be sure you get the rev 3 head with the impedance selector and better transformer.

Hmmm.... We think that speaker is pretty nifty. For the price it's very possible that the speaker is one place where they've cut corners to keep costs down, so it could be like low end guitars. You might get a good one and you might not.

Very possible, I've play a couple of the combos and was less than impressed.. Played a couple of the heads both with the eppie cab and other cabs (Dr Z, Matchless, my '62 super speakers) and I liked the amp a lot.. Different strokes I suppose. :-)

My friend just got one and I think It is pretty cool. The only thing i wish was different is if it had reverb. He has a reverb pedal so we get around it.

I use one daily. Great little practice/recording amp. It isn't versatile enough to play a gig with uless you only use one tone for an entire gig, but with a little "help" it is wicked [distortion pedal/overdrive, reverb, eq]. I generally just use it at home to play around with, or in the studio for some serious tones. I play it mainly through a marshall 1922 2x12, but have been known to use it through my warwick 4x10 or a 1960a. Mainly the 1922 though, and use differnt mics and guitars to get different textures. Well worth the money even for just a practice amp - I would rather play this little beast than one of the little modeling amps that you can get. This one retains that "tube" feel to it as opposed to the solid state amps that don't have that dynamic touch to them.
