I am fortunate to live in an area that has clubs that play so many genres of music. It is great that I can try different styles and not have to drive more than 30 minutes. What are your favorite places to play?

I got to be in the stage band for a show my college puts on every year. We played 5 shows over 3 nights and it was awesome! The auditorium seated 3500 and it was packed full every show, with folding chairs brought out in the aisles.

That was by far my favorite place to play. Second to that would be any blues / rock / jazz club. I love the close settings because you really have nowhere to hide.

Pittsburgh is a beat town any more. There's not too many venues to play that are either big enough or want to pay enough. i guess if I was willing to play for beer money I could work 7 nights a week.
I'm lucky to be in a band that has a following and fans around the world. From Vegas to Toronto, Philly, NY, Jersey, DC to Spain I get to play large theaters to some happening clubs. The House of Blues in Altantic City is the nicest venue I've played in awhile. The stage and sound techs were friendly, knowledgable and on the ball, the room sounded great and they treated us well. Toby Keith's Bar in Vegas was amazing. Smaller but great. Doug is a trip to work with and Don M. (the big guy) took care of every need,. Sammy and the Cadillac Lounge in Toronto is a favorite. Anyway, it doesn't matter if it's a big or small venue as long as it sounds good, the staff is cool and they treat us well.

My favorite place to play is Woodbridge Station. The acoustics are fabulous! It's three-and-a-half miles from where I live, open 24/7, and I can play there whenever I feel like it, so long as I don't solicit money or use profane language because - ready? - it's a Federal Building! US Postal Service! There's our tax dollars at work, thank you.

Would have to be Red Rocks Amphitheater. I love that place! Now if I could only get a gig there instead of sneaking in during the day, with a guitar in hand, just to hear the wonderful, natural, acoustics that venue provides. Haven't done that in a couple years. Guess it's time for another trip!
