In an attempt to find more cool solos to learn and also just partly out of curiosity, what are some of your favourite solos? This doesn't necessarily mean the most complex or fastest ones, but just ones you get a solid vibe from.

Some that I think are wicked include:
- Don't Fear the Reaper - Blue Oyster Cult
- Southern Man - Neil Young
- Californication - RHCP's
- Paranoid - Sabbath

Of course now that I've started writing this list I've realised im missing so many and its impossible to narrow it down too much, but nevertheless....solos you guys think are good.

For me it tends to fluxuate. Some that come to mind are..

Black Label Society's "Shine On"
Buckcherry's "Lit Up" (Great Bar Song)
"Workin' for MCA" (I love Ed King's solo in that one)
"Eruption"
"Mr. Crowley"

I never have actually listened to Yngwie Malmsteens records. I guess I am going to have to check him out. The new Guitar World has a complete interview, and has lessons from him. He sounds like an interesting cat.

Great player, shitty lyricist, and at times, a shitty attitude. You can't beat his technique, though.

OK, some of the songs on the list I know, some I don't but I am now going to have that opening solo from Hells Bells in my head. That is one of my favorites of all time.

Thanks, it gets that annoying song from the 60s out of my head from something yesterday.
