Are you talking trill's or hammering/pulling from one note to another?

your problem is that you are simply NOT hitting your lead notes hard enough. you really have to give them a good hard tap in order for them to truly ring out well every time. it takes some practice, but you'll get there eventually. just try to be more aggressive with your attack...and start out slowly and work your way up to faster speeds..........

its kinda like learning pinch harmonics, practice practice practice, I find if theres a technique i need to learn i will work on that particular technique till i get it. With hammer ons its called "hammer" because you hammer that next finger down on the note when you do you can make the string ring out. pull offs are similar only you have to pull of quicker with out deadening the string.

Hammer-ons
• smash your finger into the fingerboard as hard as possible without hurting yourself
• if you haven't developed calussus on your fingers yet then there will be pain, but not for too long
• practice on the 2nd or 3rd string on lower frets

Pull-offs
• pull off in a very slight horizontal motion almost as if picking the string again with your right hand
• pull hard and quickly

once you get em down you can practice further more by finger tapping
