I just bought an ESP/LTD Alexi Laiho signature guitar (Alexi-600). I went to go play it through my Roland Cube 30X amp. No distortion comes out. Just a barely distorted sound comes out.

Here are the specs of the guitar:

Alexi-600

Neck-Thru Body/25.5" Scale
Alder Body
Maple Neck w/ Ebony Fingerboard
Locking Nut w/ 42mm Neck Width
Thin U Neck Shape
24 XJ Frets
Black Nickel Hardware
Grover Tuners
Floyd Rose Bridge
Seymour Duncan Blackout Active p.u
Finish: BLK w/ Yellow Pinstripe

Does anyone have any ideas as to why there's no distortion?

For one distortion is run by your amp, the guitar doesn't matter. Your amp may not have distortion? Also, active pickups I believe require a battery to run them, install or replace that battery

My Jackson uses EMG Active pickups. Try replacing the battery. If that doesn't work, then it sounds like a short in the amp. I had a problem with a small practice marshall amp that had a shorted out input jack. I had to wiggle the chord around a bit/pull it a bit out for it to work correctly.

If the guitar is new, then I doubt its the guitar. If its used or had those pickups put in by someone else, check to see if they are wired up correctly.
