Okay, I'm frustrated with guitar. In my small town, there is nobody that teaches guitar. I want to get good, but I'm at a loss of information. I already know how to read music from playing saxophone, and piano. But I can't really on guitar yet. But what can i do to improve? Are their some good books out there? What about technical stuff?

ummmm... Practice...
also try transposing your piano and sax to the frets...
easier said than done but that depends in how good you actually are in those...
that may give you a starting point, thought...

That's how I learned. I transposed trumpet and piano music to the frets. Just be sure to remember that your sax is Eb (the Bb trumpet thing gave me trouble when I started this around the 6th grade.)

Another thing that I did that REALLY helped was I would draw a diagram of the fretboard, and fill in each fret with the note name. Other kids doodled pictures of airplanes and cars on their notebooks...I had about a million fretboards ;) Kept my grades low but the end result is I can look at a fretted note and tell you the name of it...anywhere on the fretboard.

That helps a BUNCH when you get into the theory side of the instrument.

Good luck!
