Hey all for those who remember me from a few years back I was formally known as SHRED_777. But anyways its good to be back.

Now I'm looking for an amp or open to using pedal distortions if you think they're better (personally I don't!)

Here's what I play:

-Vai, Satch, Petrucci
-Classic Rock, Blues
-Modern and Contemporary Christian Worship

Generally I don't play at massive venues regularly.

Here's what I HAVE to work with:

-Ibanez RG 320-FM
-Boss Super-Overdrive, Boss Delay, MEGA-OLD Boss Chorus

My current amp is a Roland Cube 30 which serves me well for now but having been a guitarist for over 8 years I think I'm ready for a little more in the way of tone.

What Sounds I'm after:

-Classic blues & Clean
-Classic Rock Crunch
-Screaming lead (not really scooped but more middish)

I LOVE the Sound of a tube amp and it's probably more what I'm looking for -or so I believe.

HERE are the AMPS I've either played, heard etc which I am considering. I'm prepared to pay but not CRAZILY expensive.

-Fender SuperSonic
-Fender Blues Junior (possibly boosted with my Super overdrive for overtoning leads)
-Marshall JCM 2000 TSL
-Marshall Mode Four
-Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier

I don't want something half-hearted -I really am in pursuit of a good tone. I also plan to get hold of an ibanez SZ and Fender Strat so these will need to be considered in my next amp.

HELP IN ANY WAY YOU CAN!?!?!?

I would suggest, in addition to the amps you mentioned:

Mesa Boogie Stilleto series
Mesa Boogie Road King (if you can afford it) (used by Petrucci)

I have a Dual Rectifier but I am geared more toward the heavier stuff.

I used to have a JCM900 and I liked it. The only problem is that the EQ controls are used for both the clean and distorted channels.

I've always wanted to try a Stiletto with EH 6CA7's. They're supposed to be a direct replacement for EL-34's, from what I understand. EVH used them, so I might as well try ;)

I love its hard-edge lead sounds but can it handle all that in between stuff?

Ok I've read reviews on the JSX combo -Most people seem to love it -I have no worries about its mean lead sounds or by the sounds of things its crunch tone -the clean is what I was worried about but most seem to say that its close enough to a fender for them. There were about two reviews though of people who thought it was the crappest thing ever made.

Opinions please...

Ok I've been on Youtube and heard a strat through this thing on clean

I BLOODY LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!

The lead once again no probs! the classic hendrix sound is also achievable.

The only thing is the rhythm crunch sound in chords still sounds slightly metal-like as far as I've heard... hmm still by far the best sounding option I've come across yet!

The only problem I have with the JSX is this:

When you play high notes on top of low notes (not necesarily simultaneously; more like letting the low notes ring out), you can't hear the high notes. I have only played it on the one that is owned by my friend so it could be his guitar or EQ settings or something like that. Be warned.

I'll keep that in mind

Thoughts on OD/Dist pedals through a fender blues junior anyone?

I don't do distortion pedals. In 18 years of playing guitar, they have never failed to disappoint me.

I personally prefer pedal sounds, they are less sloppy. If you're doing classic rock, then absolutely do NOT get above a DS-1. I tried a DS-1 and it was pretty metal (with some tweaking). That classic sound is mainly overdrive. If you were to get a pedal (not sure you would need one with a fender amp) get the ds-1 and below. (od, blues od, od/ds...
