I guess I shouldn't be so hard on my dear Lydia, a wine red Les Paul Standard that's been with me for some years now, but she has issues with tu-ning. It's a Chinese folksong. No for real, it won't stay in tune no matter what the gauge of string nor brand of expensive replacement tuner. I guess it's time for Waverly's. All I want is a little consistency. I'm all for diversity but not when it comes to my string-ed ladies not doing their jobas...

Nothing worse than a guitar that won't stay in tune. Well, actually there are a few things:

1)Getting tortured by angry mob dudes...
2)Owing angry mob dudes money...
3)"The Great Kat" playing a guitar that's out of tune...
4)The "wrong" kind of fuzz...
5)Being hungry...
6)Getting eaten by cannibals
7)Not having frets and being completely unable to "get" some notes regardless of where you put your damn fingers (yet it's still in tune!)
8)Being stalked by nether beasts... (truly horrible...)
9)Being stalked by Britney (I'm sure K-Fed would rather be out of tune... er, ummm more than he already is...)
10)Having 2 untuneable guitars.

I'm really just speculating here, but the possibilities are endless...

Quite right String-ed Brethren!

I'd like to ad the social ramifications of having your mom leave your show with your girlfriend (not autobiographical). How'd anyone make a proper segue betwixt tunes?

Nineteen Naughty Two. It really does have sick tone, but the intonation thing is killing me. Whatever, I'm just going to set it on fire.

After you set it on fire I suggest you invest in a Stratocaster. It's all I play and that thing holds its tuning like none other. You can beat the shit out of it and the strings will stay in tune. Whenever my band plays I am the only person not tuning after every song. I love my stratocaster =)

I have an Anderson classic strat and it's a solid a workhorse as anything else. I never have a need to tune between takes.

Can the Waverly's fit the screwholes for the stock Gibson Kluson's? They look like they could...

Have you tried replacing the nut? No, I'm not saying go graphite, btw. Tonekiller for reals. Unless you're playing with boatloads of Lucifer-esq, swarm-of-pissed-off-mosquitos preamp gain. Sometimes a new nut can solve things, especially one carved by a good luthier. I hear those Earvana nuts are worth their salt for Gibsons though. Salt? nuts?...pun intended. I dunno how the Earvana's might affect tone/harmonics though.

Which strings aren't staying in tune? Don't dare say the "G", cause welcome to owning a Gibson.

I think I'll try a new nut before I get all berserk about finding a new home for it. I do love playing this instrument. The neck is half of a Louisville slugger cut in half and it's a tone monster for sure. I hate when stuff doesn't work!
