Hey everyone! I am happy to say that in March I will be getting my dream guitar, the Fender Jazzmaster. I will be gettin an American Vintage 62' Reissue and I am very excited about it. I have been saving up and when my birthday comes around in March I will be able to get it ,along with some financial help of my dad who is just as excited about it as I am. Since everyone here is really cool, I thought I would share my tale of good fortune and happiness. Soon I will be pickin' and grinnin' like Elvis Costello and J Mascis.

If anyone has any comments on some improvements to the guitar and just anything about the jazzmaster, i appreciate it.

I am not a huge Fender fan, but if it is the look and sound and feel you want - then I am happy for you. Hopefully it will inspire you to play more and create some great tunes of your own. Best of Luck!!

early congrats on the jazzmaster. They look pretty sweet. I personally like strats better, but my fender is great. Deffinately worth the cash.

Thanks a lot everyone. Yeah time will go pretty slow Savva, but i thought i would be getting it around sometime next year so this is definitely a win. I just have to play the waiting game and decide on which color to choose.

I personally would go olympic white on this one because you get the 4-ply brown shell scratch plate.

Lucky! The Jazzmaster is second only to the SG on my list of favorite guitars. I love all of the tasty sounds, church of the sonic guitar style, you can milk out of one. And look at all of the great players who have rocked one: Thurston Moore, Lee Ranaldo, Kevin Shields, Elvis Costello, Tom Verlaine, Nels Cline, and Gavin Rossdale (just kidding on that last one). Jazzmasters level all other Fenders, especially Strats. I heard Hendrix's first choice was a Jazzmaster, but the sonic assault was too uncontrollable so he switched.

As far as mods go, I think you will be all set with an American model. My friend has a Japanese one from the early 90s. He put a set of Quarter Pounder pickups in it. Now the guitar sings and screams.

What amp and pedals will you be running it through?

Yeah i think i have decided on the white. Mike and the rest of Incubus are some of my heroes. Black is a great color for guitar but I only like it with a maple fingerboard, and Jazzmasters have rosewood. Plus I love the brown scratchplate, but not with the black. I like me some black stratocasters though.

As far as amps and pedals. Right now it will go through my Marshall MG series 100w. The only pedal that i have that is worth using right now is my digitech JamMan. But the Big Muff Pi and Phase 90 are on the list of soon to get along with a nice tube amp. Maybe a fender or an orange. That will be around next christmas time.
