I am not a country music fan but I went to a Brad Paisley concert with some friends and I was really impressed. He has speed, good chops and plays great melodies on his slower stuff. Where did this guy com from?
My gear recommendations:
Plug in, turn up and spank the plank

Even on their worst day most country pickers can outshred most metal guys. If you like Brad check out a song of his called \"munster rag\" it\'s an instrumental he did with his band and it\'s amazing. It really showcases all the guys in the band well, esspecially the guitar.

Also you should check out:

Lee Roy Parnell- Excellent country/rock slide guitarist.
Steve Wariner- Pretty good picker in his own right. Not as technical as paisley but still great
Vince Gill- More of a soulful bluesy/country guy but still a great picker.
Bent Mason- Excellent player. A little closer to Paisleys style but I would say even more technical. He is one of the most recorded guitarists in all of country music.
Johnny Hiland- Absolutley amazing country/shred player. He is blind too. Kind of like the jeff healey of country. lol

I also dig the Hellecasters (Jerry Donahue and company). A recent edition of Guitar Player magazine, well maybe six months ago, boasted Brad as the Ed Van Halen of twang. I agree completely, he's sick [which means really good]!

I enjoy skinny skiing, heckling figure skaters, flamenco guitar, the blue stuff you put your combs in, good drummers, focaccia bread and coffee out of a french press

John5 has some pretty nifty bluegrass licks..... You can take the tele out of Nashville, but you can't take the makeup off John 5.

Brad is a gifted player. After playing Rock and Blues for 20 years, I heard some of his playing and decided to try to cop a few licks. Holy crap! Alternating between the "bird" finger and flat pick takes a bit of practice,
He puts an instrumental on all his records, and they are crazy but tasty. He has a great sense of humor and it shows in these.
New album coming out soon. I saw a track listing and one cut is called "Throttleneck"

Will be nutz!
