'at the same time"??? why would you run them at the same time? i would imagine it would sound pretty muddy. and i don't see that setup looking very good on a guitar. but i'm not a real big fan of single coil pickups to begin with. allthough the 90's sound beeter to me than a regular single. just not a big fan of 60 cycle hum........but for a nice clean tone, they work well........

Tom Scholz from Boston used to have a les paul that had a Dimarzio Super Distortion in the bridge and a P90 in the neck.

Gibson makes a p-90 in a humbucker sized format, and the name is different, I forget what they call it. Buy some gibson vintage reissue strings and it will have a little brochure in it. Save you from routing out a guitar.

A P-90 in the neck position is a wicked sound - either that or a classic 57 in the neck [uber creamy] and a p-90 in the bridge for some snappy bite.

My blueshawk has dual p-90s and they rock! And blues...

I was thinking of changing out one of my pickups for a chromed cover humbucker pick up or the Dimarzio Fred. I like the sound of mine now, but I want to try and get a little more of that scooped sound. Any suggestions?

You actually piqued my interest in this now...:)

I was looking around, and some of these pickups i have experience with, some I don't.

Dimarzio EJ Custom - This thing sounds amazing. It is very close to those old toaster-top pickups that Gretsch and Rickenbacker used to make.
Dimarzio Humbucker from Hell - A lot like a P-90. Their website describes it as a strat sound with PAF power.

Seymour Duncan Phat Cat - one of those Humbucker-sized P-90's. Amazing little pickup...a friend of mine tried some in one of his Ibanez JetKings, and the result ended up sounding a lot like an old LP Junior.

Gibson P-94 - Essentially the same thing as a Phat Cat, I think the P-94 looks classier.
