You're a lucky man. My son called me or his mother that he wouldn't have guitar "taken away" it would be SOLD and he wouldn't be bitching about it on a guitar form.

1st of all - having no guitar is the most frustrating and boring thing to happen
2nd - i understand that your mum choked you, but if your 15, shouldn't you be taller than her by now? as to NOT let her do that.
3rd - iv been majorly abused in my life by my parents (10 times worse than choking), but i still didn't call them effing anything
4th - now, since you cant go back in time, all you can do is apologize to your mum (and YES it will be hard), so that she can see you have learned your lesson blah blah blah
5th - i may only be 16, but iv had allot of experience with parents, so i am able to see the parents side, and the kids side. this is all you can do. unless you would rather hold a grudge and never rock again.

if i lost my music creating privelages i would cry... a lot....and then i would lock myself in my room and pee all over myself....wait no....
actually, if i were you, i would take this time to do something constructive with music, like learning music theory, etc. you can do a lot with the internet..... and calling mommy and fing B isnt a good idea..... and if she choked you, move out and start dealing heroine and crack to get by. oh yeah, and warship SATAN. or not.....

Neg me all you want but I'd turn my attention on computer: play videogames, download and watch guitar videos, read articles (it IS possible to learn some stuff even without having a guitar in hand), listen to music more attentively than ever (maybe even slow down some tunes by 50% to grasp what the masters are doing). Hell, in a whole month of guitarlessness you can even learn some new useful skill (learn to use an application really well, learn a programming language).

Calling your parents things is bound to get you punished. More so if they are not the pleasant type of people to begin with. (and yeah, at the age of 15 you should be strong enough to defend yourself against your mom, unless you're really small/thin and she's really big, in which case you're screwed).

Pay extra special attention to avoid offending them or it might cross their mind to increase the penalty. Christmas without guitar sucks badly enough.

I have to agre with ibzRG. When you can't physically play, read up on stuff like theory, effects, "how-to" guides on electronics, etc etc. Anything that will make you a better or more well-rounded guitarist.
