hey ive been playing for a few years now and i really havnt learned many scales i like to play rock or heavy metal and sometimes blues what are some really good scales ?

The first scales you should learn are the: pentatonic, minor, major, and then after you got all of the positions memorized move on to the modes of the minor and major. Its also important to start learning theory, like how all the scales are put together and keys and all that stuff. But remember to take it slow.

ya pentatonic should be pretty easy for you, it incorporates what you play in a lot of songs. Good luck! PS: Harmonic Minor is kind of fun to play, so is the Major scale. Have fun with those.

Learn the 5 positions of the Pentatonic scale and the 7 Modes of the major scale.
Learn where to play each position and mode depending on the chord progression you are playing over.

i am still in the learning progress, im starting to memorize scales, chords and trying to learn as much as i can about harmonizing everything i play
but i am all self taught so alot of stuff is new
