Ok - Probably one of the least interesting posts ever but....

I have a 62 reissue strat which is the first guitar I have had where the bridge pickup really is quality and doesn't sound cheap (dont know if anyone else agrees with me that the bridge pup is one of the biggest give aways of a cheap guitar?)

So i was happy playing through my Marshall MG 250DFX. Then about 3 weeks ago I bought myself a valve Orange Rocker 30 and this thing screams! But one thing I have noticed is that it actually really accentuates the tone control on my strat. Where as my old amp pretty much rendered my tone conotrol useless, with the Orange I can adjust it and really make a difference to my overall sound.

Has anyone else found this after switching from amp to amp?

There is nothing odd about this at all. And as you probably know my 62 ri's are my fav. and do not compare to other strats.. I also only use the bridge because that's always the warm tone on a strat setting...

Orange amps are awesome! I would love to buy one. All the ones i've seen are 3k and up...Is yours an old one or a new one? I played this old one with my ri at the guitar center and it was awesome tone. I would have bought it but i spent too much already..I will eventually one day buy an old orange amp..

Also the more tonal value you have in the amp the more tone adjustment you will have on your guitar...It isn't true schematically but to the ear that is what you will really have. You went from a Marshal to an Orange..Big difference and for a strat a good choice. Not that i wouldn't play a marshal. I'd play any amp that will give me the most clarity.

Yeah, my Orange amp is brand new. It's a Rocker 30 combo so not big but packs a lot of punch! More than my 2 x 12 Marshall did.

Mine cost me £650 which I think is about 1400 of your crazy US dollars?! :-)

I think one day when I start moving up to bigger, more expensive amps I may return to Marshall but for the price, I have never heard anything like this Orange. The clarity, range and vintage tone is just awesome.

It's my first valve amp so I'm still trying to dislodge the harsher, more electronic tones out of my ears that I was so used to with the solid state Marshall.

One thing that is really nice about this amp is how percussive it is on mutes. They are way more pronounced so really good for a funky style.

I do find I use my bridge pickup more because the bass response on the Orange is so much better where as before the Marshall cheapened the sound but primarily I'm a neck pickup kinda guy. I love the fuller tones. Bridge when I need to cut through on certain solos.
