everyone,

i think i f***ed up my truss rod. one of my friends claimed to know how to fix some buzzing problems and he cranked it two or three turns at once till it wouldnt turn anymore...
action's fine now but is my neck gonna get trashed once summer comes and humidity with it? i'm very worried and confused.

first off you should never crank it even one full turn at one time. that's ridiculous. your friend may up owing you a guitar. for now turn the truss rod gently back at least a half turn and let it sit overnight. check it the next day and see where you are at. as long as the idiot didn't continue to crank on it(digging it into the wood) you should be ok...you want to have some play in both directions so back it off.

you should definitely loosen that truss rod slowly though. And don't let that idiot of a friend touch your guitar again. Obviously he knows very little about proper guitar care. Also the buzzing might not have anything to do with the neck...try adjusting the bridge and if you have a tune-o-matic bridge adjust the position of the saddles.

axes cut...songs are played on axes...so music really does make and impact.

fret board could start peeling off. could crack the wood in the back off the neck. theres a number of things thhat could happen. i would turn it a half turn at a time back, unless your going to put 14's on it you shouldn't have to adjust it more than a half to 3/4 of a turn, if a bridge adjustment don't fix the buzz
