I'm looking for a set of strings that will sound good playing the blues on a Les Paul (Epiphone). I have tried different kinds, but was wondering what you liked. Currently, i have the GHS burnished 11's, but they sound funny on my guitar.

i think Ernie Ball regulars (the green package) would do pretty well, you might want to get thicker strings for blues. i don't think you would want a skinny top because it wouldn't last to long before you would have to replace it.

I like Snake Oil Brand strings, http://sobstrings.net/ For a humbuckered guitar, you might want to try the Rock Formula sets, the vintage formula strings may be too dark sounding. And yes, they have 11's.

i find the DR brand to be the best all around string. they seem to last a very long time and don't snap like the ernie ball's that i have tried. i use 9's. 11's are a little too hard for me to bend like i like to. the only time i would go that high on guage is if i were to tune down to B or C.....

As far as I know, yeah. All you need is a checking and a paypal account, and they get them to you in about a week.

I think you can get them from here, http://www.zepman.net/index.html , with a check or a money order, tho, if you don't have a checking and/or paypal account.

They sound really good, but what i like most about Snake Oil Brand strings is their claim that they're easier on nickel/silver frets than regular NPS strings (or other "Pure Nickel" strings, for that matter).

yeah, i use d'addario 13s cuz they're one of the two brands that all music stores carry. ernie ball is too bright sounding for me.

I went through Rotosound and D'Addario and they both rust in a matter of a few hours under my hands. DR show remarkably more resistance compared to that so yeah, I'm set on DR. Plus they sound great and play great :)
