You could say the best guitar in the world is the one that has been custom-made for you, assuming you know what you want from your guitar.

this thread has potential to spark a huge debate if people take it too seriously. " the best guitar in the world " depends greatly on personal preference. there are many out there that are of good quality in my opinion. however, i gotta vote for the gibson LP myself. we all know they are known for that great sound and their look alone is synonymous with rock music.

For me, I'll go with a 60's neck LP. Even though I'm tall with long fingers, the short scale length just feels 'right' to me and it's a joy to hear the sound it makes.

I'm with Kenski and Johnny. For me, it is the LP.

you could make a case for fender, but squire?? wow. i cant imagine the word " squire " and the term " best in the world " used in the same statement. but again thats just me. if you have a squire and it is the best for you there is nothing wrong with that.

Metaphorically, guitars could be likened to your soul-mate. Some people search forever, others are blessed to find many (which can cause some SERIOUS challenges). Most find a 'love' that is available and within their price-range!! Most importantly, when we find the one that 'speaks' to us --- we do our best to make her our very own.

I love her touch, .... the sounds she makes when I use my heart to explore everything about her. Of course, sometimes she does get wound-up a little tight ..... :-)

Back on planet earth ... I have an acoustic, solid-body and an arch-top. I like screwing-them-up at different times, for different tunes and different moods. It would be difficult to say which one of those I could live without .......... they've become a part of me.

The real question is what is the best guitar in the world...to you?

ny harmony bobkat. the people at gibson should buy one of these guitars and examine it. then they will see how a real guitar is made.

i agree with the one who started this group. i have a gibson SG and i love it. but for everyone else its their guitar that actually speaks to them and makes the sound that they like. SG is for rock'n'roll and can get off a crunch. i like metal so i love the sound. strat makes blues. its the sound and preferance of yours.

I love my Ibanez. I love any Ibanez. But that is just me. I love the way they feel in my hands.
