That last thread got me thinking. I rarely buy any new rock albums. I mean I buy blues albums, but the last group that made me want to run out and buy an album was Maroon 5, Songs about Jane. Before that, I think it was the Train debut album. Man, am I behind the times...

So what's yours? And buying Aerosmith Rocks last week because youve never had it doesnt count...

I download a lot of stuff from itunes, so I've gotten out of the habit of buying albums. The last rock song that I bought was "Dark Horse" by George Harrison.

Same here. I think the last CD I bought was Epica - We will take you with us.

I buy songs off Amazon.com now. I don't play CD's anymore. I just listen to my mp3 player.

Candlebox, on cd, because that's the way, uhuh uhuh I like it. I am not an MP3 fan. I like having that booklet, and the case in my hand. It's old fashioned, I know. Actually the last one I bought was Meshuggah's new one. It's decent, but there could have been more vocals instead of growling. Before that it was Bitches Brew, Miles Davis.

The last new rock albums I bought were Brian Jonestown Massacre's My Bloody Underground (on CD) and SundayRunners' Tame Animals, which I downloaded from iTunes because their label cannot afford to do a pressing. I still believe in albums and have hope that there are bands out there releasing great full lengths.

It's kind of a sad state right now. CDs are becoming obsolete, but their replacement is not near the quality. Someone needs to step up and say that the current mp3 formats are not high quality. Decent digital formats are out there, they just need to become more common.

I agree about the mp3 quality. That's why I listen to cds still mainly. They also last for 10-15 years. If your computer crashes you don't have that music unless you have it on cd or on a memory disc. Ipods, Zunes they all look like a crappy piece of machinery to me. Maybe I'm wrong, but I feel like I would break them. I am pretty ruff on electronics. I broke my key fob to my car!

Craving Lucy - Self-Titled

Great new band from the Northeast (New Jersey...?). I discovered them by listening to the clips on Dimarzio's website. Their guitarist uses a Les Paul with Breeds into a Splawn Quickrod. It sounds unholy. The lyrics are catchy and thought-provoking without being preachy, and the riffs are soooooo hooky it's unreal.

I downloaded the album on itunes. You guys should seriously check them out!
