Like, seriously. Who's your main influences, and what is it about their music that draws you in...?

I would say either Synyster Gates or Jimi Hendrix.. I know they are completely different and stuff, but I dont know how to explain it.. These guys are both awesome at what they do, and their styles are just insane

I consider myself a sum of many parts. Eddie Van Halen - his formulaic song-writing style that makes hard rock accessible to the masses. Steve Vai - some of the smoothest runs you will ever here - it is hard making instrumentals interesting, yet he does it. Zakk Wylde - the harmonic bend - no-one does it like him! Reeves Gabrels - Someone who experiments and makes guitars sound completely different. Steve Morse - sweep picking without sounding metal. Dave Murray - the king of NWBHM co-guitars. I am sure I am missing a few (Pettrucci - Making technical, progressive sound easy and common).

Brendon Small - bringing comedy to dethmetal and making it sound GOOD. Brutal! Completely off topic: I can't believe Mike Kenelley (I am sure I spelled that wrong) is playing in the Dethklok live band. Phenomenal player, but I never would have linked him to dethmetal!!

I'm definitely gonna have to go with Pat Metheny. He basically reinvented jazz guitar, as well as created his own unique sound. He's also one of the the first real jazz guitarists to have pretty high record sales.

I have to go with SRV as Guitar Hero who influenced my sound.

I could list alot of Guitar Hero's but I have to admit that I payed more attention to how SRV played than another guitar player (Jimi would be next).

However, I find it most fun to play heavier music so it's odd (I think) that I choose a blues player as my main influence.

If you have listend to any of my tracks... Does it sound like I was influenced by SRV? Randy Rhodes maby?

Right now, for me... Don't laugh, but...

Yngwie J. Malmsteen
George Lynch

It's pretty much all I'm interested in, of course I'm also trying to develope some kosher shred chops at the moment, lol...
I kind of go in phases, this is the one I'm in now... (Sheesh, I feel pretty dated listening to and learning this stuff...lol early 90's shred, woohoo!)
