OK, I recorded it with Logic 8, which is extremely cool, and I already know i don't deserve it! lol
I miced my Peavey classic30 with a sure 57, at a suprisingly low volume. The guitar is, of course a YJM signature series strat, and the pedals are as follows;
YJMDOD308>BossGE7>VoodooLab Superfuzz>MXR Distortion III>MXR EVH Phase90>Behringer UT100>

Oh yeah, I have a Boss DD-3 in the loop. Happiest I've ever been with my tone, and I'm learning lots of new stuff with recording because of it.
Drums were Betamonkey Drumloops; Real drums ripped into apple loops. Pretty cool. I sequenced they keys stuff, and doubled all of my guitar lines.

Now, of course my playing's got a ways to go, but hey that's still OK, because I don't have a lot of time to practice these days...One day I will...

Take a listen and let m know what you think, OK? (Encoded at 96k, sorry)

Good tone from the miced amp, nice chops, im not a major shred fan but I like what you do. I would love to checkout a scalloped fret board is it hard to play? what do you need to be aware of when using it.

Thanks, dudes! Scalloped neck = Better control of vibrato and bending, and unfortunately less speed. Also, you really have to watch your "touch" because if you press too hard, you'll make the notes go sharp.

I've really tried to get away from Line6/BossGT8 direct recorded stuff in favor of capturing the tone of my amp and my beloved pedals. I'm getting closer!

It humbles me to hear playing of this caliber. The tone is very Yngwie-like. You did a great job and I like it a lot.

Cool tune! I like how you always put several layers in your tunes. You should go wild some time and make something symphonical! Neoclassical shred is fun to listen to.

Y'know, recording with the POD is easy (I'm gonna keep my 2.0 just for layering purposes, though!) You get a decent tone, sounds OK, plug in and go! But the sound I'm trying to capture now is pretty different from what I used to do. I want to capture my amps. Y'know? My playing and my 'tone'
Which I'm VERY happy with (Damn MXR Distortion pedal! lol)

I'm going to keep my GT8, as a processor (It's soooo fun) but probably ditch the pod xt. I think an ART mic preamp is next on the list...

Go for the MPA. Variable input impedance and a selectable 300v tube circuit. One of our go to pres in the studio.
