Name your favorite kind of guitar, the kind of guitar you can play anytime, anywhere, for any kind of music. Favorite brand name or model, it doesn't matter.

I would have to say my favorite is the Les Paul models. I have an Epiphone and it's very reliable, even if it doesn't beat a Gibson. I've played Gibson models and I would say Les Paul Classic's are just for me. (or a custom if I'm rich enough) The necks have to be just right though. Brand wise, I'd go with Ibanez; they're models are so well made! (but nothing can beat a Les Paul)

I freakin love Jacksons, they're just so perfect for my playing. Also Shecters are good secondary models (I played one in Guitar Center today). These guitars have good tone (especially the higher end models) and work great with Boss pedals. I really don't think I've ever played a Les Paul (not my style...) but I guess I really should. Gibsons? I fuckin love the SG. It's great for blues-classic rock, but not a good metal guitar (palm muting capabilities...) Fenders are funkay, If I had to use one, I wouldn't mind the trebly tone and branching styles. I have a Squier which is okay for now, but I want the Thrashing Metal ass Jackson to get me playing.

Since I bought my Parker almost 10 years ago there is no guitar that I would ever want to play. It may be a bit pricey, but it is versitle, comfotable and has the cleanest tone I have ever heard.

RG's, all the way! I have an RG320 with Evolutions, and now I have an RG350 with 3 dimarzio hum-cancelling singles. I plan on expanding my collection further.

The other cool ibanez guitar out there is the ART100. It's on the lower-end, but it's still a decent instrument. The cool thing is, it's the first Les-Paul look-alike guitar Ibanez has made in a LOOONG time. And it's cheap!

That's because Gibson sued Ibanez about 20 or 30 years ago over an LP copy.

Glad you're here to tell me these things, because there's obviously no way I could have known that. At all.

I really like Epiphones. They're really great. Gibson V's are awesome too. Even though i can't afford them i play them at the guitar center all the time. I have a godin (detour) which plays well and is affordable. But for style, and play, i would have to go with a epiphone.

i love schecters, dont own one yet, but last time i went to go look at guitars, schecters were amazing to me, they sorta got the strat shape which i like and they also got 24 frets usually which is helpful

I love strats and superstrats, ie: Strat-style guitars with Floyds and humbuckers.

One kind of guitar I'm really enamored with right now is a Carvin CT with a floyd, I'd love to have one of those.

Well, a Les Paul is king, but kind of cliche. On a budget the epiphones aren't bad either. If I had some money to blow I'd really like to have an Ibanez Universe 7string (the black one w/ neon green hardware), or I've had a couple of jackson v's that I like for playing metal.

I was thinking about getting a Sheraton...they seem cool and the price tag is more than manageable.
