Seems like some players on this site have too much of an ego, and think they're too good to have a few tips, I worked hard to try and give some help and advice, (not f____ing spam boys). Still if you've got your head up your arses that far you won't be able to hear advice would you!!

Posting the same topic on all active forums is spam any way you look at it.

All you had to do is post once in the appropriate place (if you look at the forums list, there IS a place for this purpose), and every new thread is given time in the spotlight in the front page of the forum and everyone would see it. Posting the same thing multiple times is guaranteed to be met with anger.

The fact that the forum is somewhat slow in activity, makes multi-posts like yours stick out like sore thumbs.

point taken, i assure you it wasn't meant to be spam, i have a great method for helping beginners learn to play pretty complex solo's, it's technical, organized, and easy to understand, and meant with all good intentions, I'm not giving it away, but why should I? It cost's me to produce it and mail it, but its not expensive, and for me its not about making money. I'm a Guitar teacher, and I work 50 hours a week, I get a great buzz seeing the grin on students faces when they crack a riff or a solo. sorry for the harsh reply before, i got outta bed the wrong side this morning, best wishes Chris

From a blog on another site:

A wise man once said, “people like to buy—they don’t like to be sold to.”
There’s nothing worse than an online community member that spams everyone with their sales pitch in a discussion thread. If you want to lose respect in an online community, this is a great way to do it. Add value, provide insight, or share an experience that may be beneficial to someone else, but please don’t spam the members—we want to keep people in the community, not send them running.

A forum is a forum. The Classifieds are the place for ads or sales. Sure some of us will post something in that vein ourselves from time to time, but there's a difference. If you have been here long enough, you know not to post it in EVERY forum. One will do. If you have some credibility with the community, then you probably have a little more leeway in this matter, but if you have the credibility, then you also know not to post the same thing in all the forums, or even two of them.

Not that we're all jerks or something, but if you knew the dark history of this site, from B.C. (before the crash,) to A.D. (after development,) you'd realize that this kind of activity was one of the things that brought the old site down. (That and porn floods, wild users, hackers, etc.,) We're probably a little "overly" touchy. Some users just get up in arms when we should be advising first and then slinging mud if it continues.

All that aside... It would be GREAT to have a new voice on the forums. You don't have to give up any of your "secrets" but people will be more inclined to look at what you have and listen to your "pitch" if they know you. Hope you can see past the "quick to accuse" and understand that we don't mean to insult anyone, just that "spamming" the boards is something that sets a LOT of people off.

Even without the dark history, it's just bad forum etiquette to show up as a new user and begin your sales pitch.

Has anyone ever heard of Richard Lloyd? He has a websight that teaches freely to anyone and everyone. No offense to summers, but this websight has plenty of ways of doing the whole sales pitch thing. All you would have to do is have your websight included in your personal page, and if people want to hear it they will search it out.
