Decided to list what people have named. I am essentially stealing this from the "best guitar you've ever played", same idea. Post the the Brand Name Model Year etc. of the best amp you've ever used.

best amps ever list:
Mesa-Boogie Dual Rectifier Solo Head w/ matching cabinet
Budda Superdrive 80 II halfstack.
Bogner Shiva series
Bad Cat Amps
'60's Gibson Hawk amp
Soldano HR-100+
Soldano SLO-100
Dumble Overdrive Special
Mesa Stilleto Deuce
Peavey Ultra

It is all subject to the style you play, the speakers you use, and to a certain degree the guitar you play. For me it is my Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier Solo head with matching cab with my Gibson Les Paul Standard.

Well...

...my favorite is my Budda Superdrive 80 II halfstack. Its gain channel allows for everything from sweet overdrive to some pretty staunch metal distortion, and it's very pick-sensitive. The clean channel is gorgeous, and gets just a little edge on it when your picking gains intensity.

I picked this amp over a room full of great stuff, and it's the foundation of my sound.

Having said that...I also have an old (60's, I think) Gibson Hawk amp with a single 10" speaker, gorgeous tremolo, and reverb you could swim in. Very fun.

Honorable mentions go to the Soldano HR-100+ I used to own (GREAT distortion sound, average cleans, no volume setting beetween "not enough" and "WAY too much") and the Bogner Shiva series, which are good at everything they do.

Do you think that a Shiva is better than an Uberschall?

I prefer the Shiva to the Uberschall...I even prefer it to the Ecstasy, though I admit price is a factor in both cases.

One more honorable mention: anything Bad Cat makes.

What are the advantages of the Shiva over the Ubershall? I know a guy who has a Shiva and I was trying to figure out why he bought it instead of an Uberschall?

Top 3 best amps ever:

Soldano SLO-100, Dumble Overdrive Special, Mesa Stiletto Deuce.

(I've only ever played a Stiletto...I've seen a Soldano up close, and been in the awesome presence of a Dumble, but am still awaiting my chance to play one ;) )

Most underrated amp ever:

Peavey Ultra. WOW. I used to own one and the clean is sparkling, the crunch is worthy of ACDC, and the lead channel competes with Mesas IMO.

I own an Ultra, and you're right. It's an excellent amp that nobody pays attention to. You can get them for cheap on ebay - if you're willing to pay the high cost of shipping an amp.

The best I ever used. Marshall 2550 Silver Anniversary, 1968 Hiwatt Custom 50 , Mesa Boogie Mark IIC+, 1967 Fender Blackface Deluxe. OK now I have to go cry because I don't have any of these amps anymore.

As someone said VERY subjective.

Best I use on a regular basis would be.

Germino, '62 Fender Deluxe and my '59 Fender Bandmaster

Iv'e owned a couple of Marshall's through the years. The best one I've heard is the Silver Jubilee...awesome amp. I've used Boogies exclusively for over 20 years and have owed a Mark IIB, a Mk IIIC, a 50/50 Power Amp with Studio Pre and a DC5. All great amps. By far, hands down is my new Fuchs 50 watt ODS. It's as close to a Dumble as you'll ever get. Amazing.

I play alesis keyboard amps... because they have a wide enough range for keyboards... guitars... 7-strings... and basses... so with a good effects peddle set you only need one amp for several instruments...

I have an alesis sumo think it is 350W
