I was wondering if anyone has tried the new RP500 by Digitech ? I have owned an RP 300 for several years and really enjoy playing around with it. It gives my 65 Twin a huge library of new sounds at an affordable price. I can't afford all the different pedals it would take to produce the sounds available on the RP300. I would like to have the capability to record some of my ideas before I forget them and the RP500 would allow me to do that. Anyone out there have any experience with the RP500?

I plan on buying one. I currently own the RP350, which is a really nice unit. I use my RP350 for recording, but I want one for stage. The RP500 fits that bill.

myself, I say no. I had one a 300 and sold it.
You're better off just slowly amassing an array of pedals, or,
if you need to have an amp modeling pedal, investing in a line6 type device.
just my 2 cents

I have a RP100. I like it but I've outgrown it.
I'd consider the RP500 for the price and I'm sure it's great but I have my eyes on the Boss GT-10.

I'll definately take a free RP500 from Musicians Friend via the weekly giveaway but I never win anything.
Good luck to everyone else who signs up.

And spread the word if there are other giveaway's to sign up for out there.

I read up alot on multi-fx's. Boss tends to have excellent modulation and flexability, but their units tend to be complex. The GT-10 is supposed to address the complexity issue. Also, BOSS tends to be weak on actual amp modelling. Based on what I read, Line6's current units are basically repackaged older technology. Digitech's modelling is one of the best on the market, but they are not as flexable as BOSS. Digitech is finally doing what BOSS has been doing for years..... the 4 cable method. And that's only with their rack effect unit. The way I see it, if you want lots of flexability and you won't be doing modelling, then going BOSS is a no brainer. But I do like modelling so I'll stick with Digitech.

If you want to know more. Go here. It's run by Kewlpack. This guy knows his multiFx's!
