I recomend the Boss ME-20. Quite an affordable pedal, it's four in one. It's got a distortion effect, and a chorus, a delay, and a wah-wah pedal (and wah-wah's are like £70 on their own). It's all about £120-140, depending where you look. It's an ace little pedal. It looks fairly intimidating to begin with, but after playing with it for 10 minutes (and what's the best part of a new pedal? That's right, working out all the wierd settings =P) you'll be comfortably familiar with it.

If what you're looking for is someone to recommend some pedals to you (I guess that's the meaning of your post), you have to be more specific if you want to get any useful suggestions. What king of amp to you have, what type of sound/effects do you like to listen to, are you looking for distortion / what type of distortion ? ...

I seriously after about 12 years of playing sold off all of my pedals and effects, except for my one processor that I keep in the 'loop for delays. So I suggest a delay pedal - I've been playing for 15 years now and realize that's all I need. However... without knowing your style I have no clue, cause if I was a funk man, I'd have a compressor and wah, and if I played 80's hair metal I'd have a rack setup as big as a refridgerator.

I have a buncha pedals into a tube combo, which I'm loving but I prefer to just go "fx naked" into my amps...
