I have heard a lot of people playing, guitar hero 3, saying they are the best guitar players in the world.
but the fact is that a guitar hero plastic thing isnt the same as a real guitar. seems like they cant understand it.

Just want to know, if you ever experience this.

Nobody is saying it isn't possible, we just think it is funny when people refer to Guitar Hero 3 as Guitar, with no reference to the game whatsoever.

I can safely say that I play Guitar Hero and still suck at playing real guitar. It does nothing!!!!


And I was playing real guitar well before GH ever existed. And I still suck. :D

Well if it makes you feel better, I royally suck at Guitar Hero, but I can comfortably play most styles on the guitar.

That seems to be the case - if you are good at one, you probably suck at the other. But it's two completely different concepts to wrap your head around, guitar is strings that make sound as you see fit, GH is DanceDance Revolution, but with a guitar. A PLASTIC one. With BUTTONS. :O

GH can be a lot of fun, but really, all you can gain from it is some finger excercise, and you can do that on a real guitar. LOL




I will admit tho, I did get a little bit better at "Cherub Rock" on real guitar cause of GH. *blush*

I played rock band or guitar hero or sumfin stupid. I lost. So my friend grabs the guitar [i.e. controller] and played whilst I played along, playing all the notes not just what it said on screen.


He can admit real guitar is better [he plays himself] but likes videogames a little too much IMO.

I think that the Guitar Hero, and Rock Band Games can be beneficial, if use right. A lot of people don't think that using a computer as part of your instrumentation is right, but that is what NIN uses and LInkin Park. So if used correctly as a ruthm tool it could be a good thing. Although I don't much care for it I did have fun playing Slow Ride and Sunshine of Your Love on it once. Then I went home and played SOL on my guitar. So it was a pretty cool experience I guess. I still am not ready to go out and buy one.

Having never played one of the things, about a month ago I found myself in front of about 50 people I didnt know in the grand final of a GH contest, weird, I lost to someone who had played before, although im sure I would have won on a real guitar. 2nd isnt bad for first try.
