hey. ive got a maverick X-1 and it has the most amazing pickups ever, and i want to get some more to put in my other guitars. however. its not the up to date model, and i cant find any information on it or the pickups. theres no serial number. and to make matters worse, maverick has recently closed down. if anyone can help me get any information on it or the pickups i would be amazingly grateful.
cheers. party on

From what i understand, maverick makes their own pickups, and the pickups on the x-1 where made specifically for the x-1, and were called (surprise) x-1 pickups, soooo ebay might be your best bet to try and nab a few, although alot of companies usually carry new ones for a period of time after the company is shut down.

the thing about pickups is that they respond to the wood and design of the given guitar. that pickup COULD sound awful in another guitar. it can be a real crapshoot at times. better research for you would be to look around for some info on HOW pickups respond to DIFFERENT woods and the like. then you can make a much better judgment on the whole thing.........

thats a well good point. iv read on a review by some guy who stuck an x-1 bridge pickup in his epiphone les paul (which is my main guitar) and said it sounded good. but of course it could change from guitar to guitar. experimenting i guess. can always trade them in or something if i dont like them.
